I'm only on day 3 of phase 1 but tonight's kickboxing was awesome! I had SO much energy. It may also be because I've been walking/running every night so my cardio has improved, but I can't help but wonder if it's also the diet. No carbs slowing me down or making me feel sluggish.

I heard people felt tired, etc. on phase 1 but I feel great! I'm probably eating more than other because I'm nursing but I don't think I'm eating too much.

I just wanted to share. I feel so excited about this. I think I'm on the road to losing those pesky, unhealthy 60 lbs. Thanks for letting me share. Julie (Maryland)

Welcome to the Beach, Julie!

Doesn't the book recommend Phase 2 while breastfeeding? I don't have my book with me (lent it to a friend, so I can't check). There are other moms here breastfeeding, so I do hope they see this and chime in, too!

(Wait a minute...did I see that right? Two people, both from Maryland, post within minutes of each other? Glad to see you both here!!!).

Hi Catherine: Yes, I've read on the boards that I should start w/ phase 2. Well, I sorta do if you count my creamer in my coffee that I will NOT give up LOL. Also, my peanut butter isn't all natural, its regular peanut butter (which I believe has added sugar). Other than that, I can't think of any extra carbs I'm getting. Do you think that's enough or should I add in a few other carbs? I haven't actually even looked at phase 2 yet. From what I understand though, you don't add many carbs back anyway so I figured I was ok with what I'm doing.

I didn't buy the book, I'm just relying on all the boards. There's so much info on the web. Anyway, I appreciate your thoughts. Maybe some other nursing moms will post so I can get a better idea of what I should be doing. Julie

Hi i'm new to the sbd. i started last monday and have lost a total of 5lbs so far. i am also a keen kickboxer and train 3 days a week so when i saw your message i had to get in touch with you. i agree with you i find I have the same amount of energy as i did when i was eating carbs, which was one thing I was worried about when I started this diet, that I would always feel tired etc. but I don't at all.

This is the first message i've posted and i'm trying to find out where i can get half fat ricotta cheese from I've lookd in Sainsburys, M&S and Tescos but cant seem to find. Do you have any suggestions?, as i've been using full fat which i know I shouldn't do but i need some kind of dessert to keep me going.

Keep me posted

Hi Julie!

I also think that you should start on Phase II as the book says. You're going to slowly add low glycemic fruits, and you could add all-bran cereal with skimmed milk for example.

With the energy, I've had MORE energy since SBD, but the fact that I lost 24 lbs probably makes a big difference in my energy levels! I find I have a lot more energy now and for example on the weekends I used to not want to get up early enough, and now I'm up and cleaning the house and raking leaves in the mornings! woohoo! (Oh , I still hate cleaning, but I do feel good once I'm done :) hehe

Nancy :)
