Feeling A Little Down

I'm feeling a little down. I have been following the diet, pretty much perfectly, BUT I just feel like I'm not losing anything. (DAY 4) I walk 3 miles a day and from what every one says you should be able to notice weight lose by now. Maybe I'm just getting a little discouraged, but I feel like I should notice something!

I'm worried that I LOVE cheese and that might be hurting me. I have been eating low fat but I eat a little at every meal. I put some on my eggs, a little on my salad, then low fat mozzarella on tomotoes for dinner? Could this be a problem?

Other than that it seems like I'm following well, has anyone else felt this way?

I totally understand what you are going through! I am in Phase 1 as well and haven't noticed a difference. I am feeling depressed and a little sad. I know I need to diet, but I hate it because I feel deprived. My husband is eating pizza right now and I am upstairs because the smell is driving me nuts! I just have to keep telling myself why I am doing South Beach in the first place, which is to get my weight down to a good place to try and conceive. My doctor won't put me on any fertility drugs until I lose 50 pounds. Hang in there until day 7 and I bet you see a difference then!

Hi Meg,

I am on day 4 too. I understand what you are saying because I havnt lost any weight either, but I feel alot better. I think alot of it is mental. Maybe if you get excitted about eating healthy, and the fact that you are doing something proactive to make a change in your life, you will feel better.

Hang in there maybe tomorrow there will be a big change, or the day after. And then think of how great you will feel.

I am a huge one at getting discouraged but i am really trying hard to be positive and not give up this time.

Check in tomorrow and let me know if things are better. I bet you will have lost some. (fingers crossed I will have to). Smile.

Hi there,

I'm right there with you.. I'm on Day 4 and don't feel any lighter! I try not to weigh myself but once a week so I couldn't tell you exactly.

I finally do, however, feel really good! I hope that you feel good, which is as important as losing weight...try not to forget why you are doing this... try to take the focus away from the numbers and think about how you feel. Don't worry!

I know it's hard to hear how much others are losing, it's hard for me, but stick with it... you'll get there...

Hi,

I'm right there with you, but I'm not giving up. I'm going to give it a chance to work. I am going on to P2 3 days early cuz I'm detoxed. Now maybe my body will kick in with the new WOE and adjust its weight (LOSE, LOSE, LOSE!!!) My former WOE was 90% carbs and sugar, and I have not missed it at ALL. Aside from the weight, I have done my body a great service by cutting back on massive amounts of refined sugar and processed flour. You stick with it!!! We're all in the same boat and we will succeed!

Hi!

Welcome to the board and the plan...Have you tried measuring yourself? You might notice a change in inches before weight. I know I did. Please don't be discouraged. Just keep on keeping on and you'll get there.

-Make sure you are eating when hungry and stopping when full.

-beans ARE legal and very much packed with fiber and other goodies so eat them:)

-lots of water is very beneficial.

Just my little hints for succes:)
