I've only read a story or two about the program, but it was to call attention to the "dangers" of the Atkins diet by saying 2 people died of heart abnomalities because of being on the program. Really alarmist stuff. Check out the Atkins board for reaction, and for a truly excellent response to the program's misinformation by the Atkins CL, tecocat.

Just curious: Anyone see any negative press specifically about SBD, is it too new to be killing people, is Atkins out there taking the heat for the LC way to eat, or is SBD just flying under the radar because of the negative thoughts and publicity about Atkins?

Note: I'm not slamming Atkins, and I'm certainly not going to leave the Beach. Just curious.

yes i saw it also, i believe the SBD is more healthier than the atkins, they allow stuff like yogurt and fruits from what i have seen.

it was scary hearing about the people dying and getting really ill from it.

it was also on our regular news, those poor parents who lost their daughter.

i was also reading in US magazine they had a little snippet about atkins and i guess people have been saying that catherine zeta jones lost her wieght on atkins and her lawyers emailed atkins or whoever published it saying she has never been on atkins.

but it also said the celebrities arent risking the fat for dr atkins and choosing healthier diets.

i tried atkins but got off it after about 3 months my sides hurt, i was tired and i got sick of just eating meats and cheeses and limited fruits and veggies.

but like they say each diet works diffently for eveyone.

good luck on your wieghtloss journey and stay healthy!

i think you will be just fine on the SBD :)

Hi Donna,

I didn't get to see the show, but thanks for posting this!
