I know it's not listed in the book, but does anyone know if Enova oil (advertised as "healthy") is allowed? It's made from soy & canola oils.

I've never heard of enova oil. As long as it's not hydrogenated soybean oil (the soild kind), I would imagine that it would be fine. I wonder (and yes, this is just my two cent querying aloud) if it is an attempt to make a healthier oil than strictly soybean oil, but not quite as light or expensive as pure canola oil. How does it compare in price to straight soybean and and pure canola oils?

The following link is to a very long, but informative, article about oils and addresses some of the dangers coming to light associated with seed oils (such as soy, canola (rape-seed), etc.). You may find it helpful.

Bleeech! I had always heard that canola oil was one of the "healthy oils", though I never use it myself. At any rate, here is an article that is a link from the article Rhonda gave:

It debunks a myth about canola oil, but also gives some useful consumer info.

Hope this is helpful!

I'm continually amazed at what open-minded traditional physicians, complementary health practitioners, and nutritionists are bringing to light as far as our diets, wellness, etc.

Just found the enova oil website and it does sound like it is a healthy alternative and great for losing weight.

I'm not sure I'd trust a manufacturer's web site as the last word on whether their product is healthy. I guess I'm a skeptic, but let's face it, it's there to promote their product. Their advertising isn't going to say anything negative to discourage people from purchasing and using it. Unless they have drastically changed the biochemical makeup of their ingredients, it doesn't sound to me as though it's the best route to take. Just my opinion.

I've emailed an expert to try to get an unbiased, educated opinion on the product and hope I will get some

Thanks all -- the oil is not cheap. I think I paid over $5 for 20 oz. but thought anything was worth a try! I did check out their website before I bought it and had my mom ask her Dr. and was told it was safe. I guess it's been used in Japan for years. We're always behind the curve......
