I don't get it!! Please help...

Okay, so I haven't officially started the program, I'm just kinda giving it a test run until after Thanksgiving, then I'll really start. Here's my problem...I'm starving! This is what I've had so far today...BREAKFAST - 2 hard boiled eggs and ham. LUNCH - Large green salad with a grilled chicken breast and another egg chopped up on top. AFTERNOON SNACK - 30 pistachios. Every time I feel hungry or get a craving I drink some water. I feel like I'm going to float away and I am taking trips to the rest-room quite frequently. So what gives? What am I doing wrong. I keep hearing about how full and satisfied everyone is but I'm hungry. I don't want to cheat but I'm dyin here! And just for the record that is more than I usually eat so shouldn't I be full from eating all of this food? I'm confused! Can someone please shed a little light on this for me?
TIA
Jessi

I hear ya!!!!! Try adding a snack in the morning too. The first few days while I was "detoxing" I was starving all the time too --- try having 3 eggs or maybe more ham, try and omelet instead with light cheese and veggies. Have some turkey or roast beef "rollups" a little later in the morning --- or cucumbers with hummus (although that didn't quite hit the spot in filling me up, but they are delicious). What kind of dressing did you have on your salad? oil/vinegar dressings have more fat that keep you fuller longer.
After getting over the hump ---- I started feeling less hungry. But the bottom line is-- eat so you are not hungry if it is truly stomach hunger you are feeling.
I would have the 30 pistachios plus a piece of string cheese for snack in the afternoon.
I thought I would gain weight from all I ate, but I lost 11 lbs in phase 1 --- please note, I had 70 total lbs. to lose so therefore, I did lose a good amount in phase 1.
Hope this helps a little

Hi and Welcome,
I think Ellen gave you some great advice.
Ellen and Cathy have given you great advice. I really can't stress enough how much beans got me through phase one. I had them at least once, and usually twice, per day. My "staple" was a white bean and chopped tomato salad, with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and fresh chopped basil and fresh minced garlic to taste.
I was starving during phase one, too. There were some days that I ate three extra snacks! Perhaps some might disagree, but I think that is OK, as long as you keep them legal, and again, eat until you're just not hungry any more. Anyway, doing that, I still lost 9 pounds during phase one.
It does get better!! Hang in there.
Hugs,
Jill K.
