Hey everybody,

After reading about the SBD on this board, I decided that I would join ya'll. Any advice/encouragement will be very much appreciated! I lost 60 lbs a couple of years ago, went from a size 18 to a size 8. After a change in job assignments, I am creeping toward a size 12. I thought that by going back to my old diet I could drop the weight, but so far the weight gain seems to be gaining momentum. I do not want to be a size 12 again! I don't know what I weigh, that is irrelevant. I'm almost 41 years old and I know that I need to take control before this gets out of hand! Help!

Hi Peach :-)

Welcome to the Beach! Glad to have you. The inmates run the asylum here, but we're all harmless. Really.

Welcome back GA Beach Girl. It really is not the same without seeing your blue fish! I mean that in a good way and not in an Eddie Haskle way either.

How did you Thankgiving go? Hope you had a good.

Hey GA Beachgirl, Thank you for your warm welcome and sunny disposition! What a lucky girl you are to live in the lowcountry...I am in the Augusta area, half way between the beach and the mountains. To answer your questions, I started today using the link here on ivillage for the first 2 days. I bought my book online and I am anxiously awaiting its arrival. The only problem I'm having is the tremendous headache I've had all day and wouldn't you know it, as soon as I gave in and made a pot of coffee, 1/2 full strength, 1/2 decaf, my headache went away! Anyway, it is going to take some real effort to get off of the caffeine. What can I expect by weaning myself off of caffeine instead of going cold turkey? Mentally,I am doing pretty good on the diet, my only concern is having time to prepare my food. Looking forward to your next answer, thanks!

Hi, GA Peach!

Just adding my 2 cents' worth. Weigh yourself now, and take your measurements, and write them down. Weigh in once a week (it's even ok to be a slave to the scale for a little while - it can be encouraging to see day-to-day changes - but don't get hung up on it), and re-measure every so often to see how you're progressing. Those non-scale victories - inches lost that could be a call for a shopping trip - are just as rewarding as the drop in pounds that shows on the scale.

Good luck!

ga beachgirl,

it sounds like you are in my area! we're in the southeastern part. As low as you can go without being in florida.
