I just came back from the food store and am soooooo excited about my food shopping purchases!  Part of recommitting for me involves making sure there are lots of SBD friendly items in my house... I think it would be great to share some of our SBD-friend purchases (maybe each week?) to help give each other ideas and/or remind of things we haven't bought in a while.... What do you think?

Here are some of the things I bought.

Broccolini
Broccoli
Zucchini
Spaghetti squash
Bok choy
Scallions
Lots of fresh mushrooms
tomato & tomato grapes
pickling cukes
Golden apples (less sweet)
Romain lettuce leafs (to use in deli deli wraps)

deli turkey & ham
huge green olives from olive bar
reduced fat cheddar
Eggs (18 package - hard boil 12)

Brown rice (not the instant - to try)
Lentils & barley (I have a great crock pot dish - this is so filling)
canned salmon (for SBD salmon cakes with curry sauce)
Sugar free cocltail sauce (to try)
Metimucil pills (to try - will take one pill with meals)

2 low carb frozen dinners (to try)

Found a "Splenda" cook booklet at the cashier... I bought it (a reward?)

I just got back from the store as well. They were having a GREAT deal on boneless, skinless chicken breasts!

Chicken Breasts

Ground Chicken (for chili)

TOmato Sauce (for chili)

Pickles

Cashews

Squash

Cucumbers

Eggs

Low Fat Cheese

Taca and Chili seasonings

Lunch meat

Tyson chicken for salads

I have tons of frozen and canned veggies at home. Let's see... I think that is it!

Hey Susan --

What low carb meals did you buy and where do you find them? Would love to find something I didn't have to COOK! I think I have washed more dishes in the past month than I have all year :-).

Asparagus (fresh to grill)

Green, red, and yellow peppers

Onions

Tomatoes, cucumbers, and lettuce

Black olives

Zucchini and summer squash

Cooking my 17 lb. turkey, since we ate out on Thanksgiving

Low fat Cottage Cheese

Artificially sweetened Yogurt

Low fat String Cheese

Lots of eggs

Deli lunchmeat

Smart Ones Chocolate Mousse "cicles"

Frozen boneless, skinless chicken breasts

whole wheat bread

whole wheat rolls

couscous

green onions

jalepeno peppers

yellow bell peppers

red bell peppers

garlic

ginger

evaporated skim milk

lite coconut milk

spinach

pine nuts

cashews

You must be beyond Phase I. I already have a number of things I need, but I'm glad you mentioned kale, because I wanted to include that too.

They are called "Mike's Low Carb Gourmet" - - they are new to my food store, and not cheap ($6.99).
