This is off-topic.

Did anyone watch American Dreams? I am a puddle of messy mess right now. I found myself telling JJ to come home too.

Emotional??? Yeah, what of it? :)

It was Beth and JJ's engagement party. Ben was still in the hopsital. Meg was still with Drew. Roxanne was with the other boy. JJ was getting ready to be shipped off to Vietnam, and it was everyone telling him to come home. He had to fill out his will, say good bye, and the last few scenes got me. He told Ben, his mom, and his dad and Beth goodbye with one last look over his shoulder as he boarded the bus. Roxanne came home as well and hugged Meg at the door.

I was a blubbering mess last night. lol.

I'm so sad I missed it. I LOVE that show! My husband was being a little more than grumpy last night and wanted to go home (from his mom's house) right when it came home. So, my choices were a mad man, or miss the show. I chose miss the show!

Hi Ria,

I love that show, too. My daughter left yesterday early evening to go back to college and my two teen sons were still at hunting camp with their dad so I was home alone when I watched it. I was a blubbering mess, too. I thought JJ looked so incredibly sad it broke my heart. I could have smacked Meg for how mean she was to him his last few days home!

Two words for you guys: Ti-Vo

I know. You're saying: "I don't like gagets." "I dont even like watching TV." "I certainly dont need another excuse to watch more TV." and, my favorite, "I can't even record on my VCR, why would i want another machine?"

Here is what i say. Tivo is wonderful. You tell it once that you like american dreams (which you type in, easily, in a way ANYONE can understand.) and that's it. It tapes it forever. it just remembers. and if there's a special on or the network changes the time, it figures that out too. And here's the best part...you know that time when you wake up at 4 in the morning and you can't go back to sleep. or when you flip on the TV to veg out for 30 minutes and all that's on are old episodes of matlock or infomercials? you can watch american dreams. or the second half of american dreams that you were too busy to watch when it was on.

i *definitely* watch less TV with this thing than without. I dislike 99% of TV stuff. I have a strong dislike for gadgets (manual can opener and other kitchen accountrements, etc.) And our TV is from forever-ago. Trust me, this thing is great. a month or so ago, i told it i liked katharine hepburn movies. now, it records them. so this saturday morning when i woke up early and couldnt get back to sleep, i watched the philadelphia story (which it had taped a week or so ago.) what a nice surprise. it's like having an extra channel that has all of the stuff you like and none of the stuff you don't.

anyway, commercial over. now back to your regularly scheduled message board.

Hope
