Hi all:

I see lots of new names on the board, and the old Roll Call post is buried somewhere, so let's take a census again, with some new questions :-)

1) Name, phase, how long you've been on the Beach

2) If you could win lunch (SBD friendly, of course!) with anyone (living, dead, or fictional) who would it be? Why?

3) What's your favorite book?

I'll start...

Hi there. My name is Amy and although I have made it to the beach, Im still in the parking lot! lol (Have to go shopping before I can start.) But I am eager to start and decided why not get familiar with the board so that I am already caught up when I start. God willing I will be starting in the next couple of days!

Lunch with a famous person? Hmmmm... Well today I would have to say Nora Roberts (bestselling romantic suspense author). I am currently working on my first novel and she really inspires me.

All time favorite. OH GOSH. There are so many. I guess I would have to say "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee. It was the first book I ever read that really touched me enough to make me cry. (I read it when I was in sixth grade).

Cant wait to read everyone elses responses.

Truly,

Amy

Heather,

I am SO with you on the smacking Jon thing! My cousin and I have a theory that he and Sandra are actually working together...don't you think she's overdoing the "I hate him" thing just a tad bit considering she's never voted for him?!

1) Donna, Phase II, I hit the Beach on 9/14.

2) I'd like to have lunch with Benjamin Bradlee (editor of Washington Post back in Watergate days). I just think the guy's a blast.

3) Favorite book? There are so many, mostly classics. "Pride and Prejudice" tops the list. I've got a pile of books waiting for me, but that didn't stop me from buying a new one that looks like it might be really entertaining - "Queen Bee of the Mimosa Branch".

Hmm - the first question is easy...

Patty - Phase 1 - started SBD this past Saturday

The next two are making me think...

I don't know who I'd like to lunch with, but maybe with an author or artist who can share how they took the leap to pursue their talents.

Favorite book - would have to be one (can't pick just one!) by Maeve Binchy... I love her writing style.

1 - My name is Teri and I'm just finding my way to the beach. I'm familiar with what I need to do -- now I just need to do it. Hopefully in the next few days I get my act together! I need to lose the baby weight and then some more -- My babies are 18 and almost 17. LOL

2 - Lunch -- hmmmm -- I would have to say a nice long lunch with my mom and my sister. We just never have time to do a girl's lunch. I think it would be so enjoyable!

3 - Favorite book -- well I love to read but never have time. However I have become an avid "listener". One of my all time favorties is Tara Road by Maeve Binchy and I have truly enjoyed all of John Grisham's novels. And I am having so much fun reading Janet Evanovich's books that started out with One for the Money. They make me laugh out loud! I've listened to so many good books while I drive to work. Hard to pick just one!

Teri,

I LOVE the Stephanie Plum series!! I have the first eight books, have to get the ninth (although I've read it), and can't wait to see where she goes in book ten :-)

Sounds like we're all a well-read group here, I'm loving reading all these answers.
