Crazy Inspiration?

I've been on SBD for a month now. I'm very pleased because I've stuck to this way of eating virtually pain-free. I really see this as a life altering change in the right direction, of course. Now I'm even more confident and determined that I can reach my goal weight. My question to everyone is:

HOW DO YOU KEEP YOURSELF INSPIRED AND ON TRACK? IS THERE ANYTHING SPECIAL OR QUIRKY THAT YOU DO?

My Crazy Inspiration:

On my refrigerator I have a picture of myself at the size I was most happy with (and want to get back to). The other night I went to the back of my closet, that deep, dark, mysterious place where I hide all my "skinny" clothes =) and I picked out an old pair of shorts (size 7). I actually nailed my shorts to the wall right above where I put my gym bag. That way on the days I feel lazy or too tired, I can look up at the shorts and realize that if I want to lose weight then I have to work my a** off (literally). These crazy things actually inspire me to push myself to accomplish my goals.

What do you all do?

TIA,

Angel

Hi Angel,

I think the visual is a great idea.

Angel and Cathy (and others):

I hit my first clothes goal this week, yay! I can wear most of my size 8's again, including my favorite pair of khakis. As for my goals, I posted the whole list under the renewing goals thread, but my system is that I'm replacing my wardrobe piece by piece. I have five pound goals for myself and can go shopping after each one for one segment of my wardrobe (if I have the money, of course!) I also reward myself for anything particularly difficult, like carving out time to go to the gym even when it's hectic, by getting myself little treats like a manicure, a pedicure, or some accessories.

I think I'm going to have buy something in a six to nail to my wall :-) Although I like Cathy's bikini idea!

I remind myself of what I looked like after having my son! When we begin to try for number 2, I want to be a certain fitness level and certain size. I want to keep myself in tip top shape unlike last time where I was slacking.

Thanks, Alison!

I'm actually really surprised that I can wear them already since I haven't lost as many pounds as I thought I would need to first :-) Really makes me wonder what my final size will be when I hit the actual weight goal, which is one of the reasons why I haven't made my first shopping trip yet, I don't want to have to spend all that money twice!

Thanks for the input everyone! Cathy, my goal is to get ready for bikini season next year (I have a long way to go). I think I posted that under Shan's thread about reward system. Shan, you're right about not wanting to spend money twice on clothes. I'm just going to try to work my way through my closet again. I've got sizes ranging from 7-13. So my first few rewards will be non-clothes related like a new MP3 player. I also like your idea about a manicure.

Alison and Ria, you guys are great! It's nice to see such close sisters. I wish I could do all that running! I'm also trying to take my fitness levels higher. I'm fatter than I ever was but at the same time I'm actually more active now. I have more muscle than I ever did. Now all I have to do is lose all the fat around them. LOL

thanks for the input,

Angel
