Hello everyone!

I used to be tiny and eat whatever I want, and then I had two beautiful children. Since then, I've tried it all, WW, Atkins, Phen-Fen, Mayo Diet, EVERYTHING!

Then, my DH went to our dr., and she recommended the South Beach diet. She and her husband have been on it, and she thinks very highly of it. Since I think highly of her, we decided to get the book and start 12/1. DH has high blood pressure and a spare tire. I have lots (LOTS) of baby fat left over.

So, here I am, looking for support, and to give support! We started 12/1, and the first day wasn't that bad. Day two, I'm a bit hungrier. I'm not used to eating breakfast! We are using the daily menus as a guide, but mostly just using the food lists. I stayed out of the kitchen most of the day, even making my oldest's lunch while cleaning up from dinner so I wouldn't be tempted later. Let me tell you, that sandwich was awful tempting!

I have a question, though. Last night I was starving at bedtime. Should I have ignored it, or had a small, phase 1 friendly snack? Evenings are my munchie time, so I have to be extra careful then!

I've rambled enough, but I'm looking forward to being in this group! Thanks!

Hi and welcome! This board has been moving pretty quick lately so I'm sorry this almost got lost!

I've been doing this since the beginning of september with much success. I'm glad you are doing this with your husband. The extra support will be great for you!

If you get hungry at night, you could try a stick of string cheese, some nuts, veggies, leftover dinner...really anything from the list. You aren't supposed to be hungry so if you find your tummy rumbling, drink a glass of water and wait...if you are still hungry go grab a legal snack.

Good luck,
