What have you snacked on today?
I'm hoping to really finds some new ideas here.

What phase would your snack be alright for?

-----------------------------------

Let's see today I had a slice of reduced fat cabots cheddar (so good).  This afternoon I had about 6 HUGE green olives I got from the olive bar at my food store.  Yum.  Cravings gone!

Hi everyone. Im new to the group but felt impelled to post here lol. I have a favorite snack that I would like to modify for the diet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Snack (normal); slice of ham, smear with a little cream cheese, add an asparagus tip and roll. VERY tasty and rich!

Now I have heard, although I havent yet gotten any, that laughing cow is a lot like cream cheese. I am wondering if this would work. If so, would it be suitable for phase one? (Dont even know if they have it here yet lol)

Amy

I'm new here too and have another cheese question-- I like the Laughing Cow (lite), but also like to snack on those little round cheeses in the red wax that you peel off (I can't remember what they're called, but they come in a little mesh bag-- like 6 of them and they are lite). Have y'all seen these? And are they okay? Many thanks!

Going super easy on snacks. Sticking with my low-fat cheese sticks today. Had a super-queasy tummy Monday night and Tuesday (didn't eat from mid-afternoon snack Monday until a light dinner Tuesday, except for a piece of low-carb toast Tuesday morning). Trying to figure out what to have for lunch; really not hungry and even though feeling better, don't want to press my luck.

Regarding the Laughing Cow CC, what is the fat/cal/carb/sugar on this product? We don't have it here and I'm trying to find something comparable. Also, I have found that natural peanut butter (here) is not any better than what I am presently using. I use Simply Jif. For 2T, it has 190 cal, 16g fat,6g carbs, 2g fiber, 2g sugar. How does this compare to what others are using? Thanks! Oh, by the way my favorite snack is sf jello mixed with 2T 4% large curd cottage cheese. Crazy, huh? WORKS FOR ME!!! LOL

Can't help you on the Laughing Cow - I've never seen the low-fat version (that might be more a problem with my eyesight than with availability). As far as PB is concerned, what with all the confusion over added fat, trans-fat, sat-fat, etc., I've converted to using the fresh PB that the stores grind up themselves. It's much drier than the jarred brands and spreading it on bread can make a mess, but it's nothin' but the nuts and tastes so fresh. I keep it refrigerated, which minimizes separation.

Susan,
I completely agree with you about the nuts! I have been doing SBD since 9/30, and am basically P2/P3 and I could not have made it without them. It's funny that you say how you now limit them. I was very careful to count them out in the beginning. Now that I have lost the weight, I am sometimes over-indulging. They satisfy the salty/crunchy cravings, and are certainly a better choice than nachos, chips, etc. I eat nuts more than once per day usually, and I am still losing weight.
And, yes, the jarred roasted peppers are 'legal'. Actually I find that several condiments in the pickle section of the store are good. Olives are also a big favorite, and just a couple are satisfying as a snack. I also use them to 'punch up' a tuna or chicken and veggie chopped salad for lunch.

Welcome to the board Amy!

Your snack sounds fine, just change the cream cheese to reduced fat!
