cl-squirtsmama so I shall introduce myself.
My name is Melissa but I go by Mel to my family and friends so since I'm hoping a lot of you will be my friends I will go by Mel here too. I'm 31 years old and live in Minnesota (brrr!) with my DH (Mike), 12yo DS (Sidney) and 4yo DS (Anthony). My DH has 3 older kids you may hear me talk about every so often... Christopher (19), Steven (17) and Kate (21, married with 2 little girls). So yes, that technically does make me a Grandmother.... EEK!
I am also a CL on the Pets Channel - Puppie Board and have been there for a couple years. I have become very interested in the SBD since my Mom's cardiologist told her to check it out (she had heart surgery this summer) and my blood pressure is high for my age, weight, activity level. I have been lurking on the board for a while know and you ladies sure know what you are talking about! What a great group and I'm here to help with the support. :) I saw that people were upset there wasn't an active CL on the board so I applied. Here I am.....
Monday, I put my husband on this diet and joined him to see if it would make me feel better and lower my BP, we'll see. DH needs to loose weight and since I'm doing all the work for lunches and such he will go along with it.
So I can get to know the rest of you, please introduce yourself!

I'm alison and have been on this since september. I've had much success and have gotten lots of good info from these ladies (and gentleman somewhere).
Good to have you!

I'm Donna, I'm older than you , married with no kids and no pets, and hoping that a commitment to SBD and working out and significant weight loss will convince my dr. to let me off BP medication. Last checkup, he was impressed by my progress and commitment to follow through, but not impressed enough to let me leave the office without an updated prescription. Rats! Maybe I'll get to him next time (April, I think); that checkup will include a fasting blood test also, so if my LDL cholesterol stays low, I might be able to win him over....
Hope you enjoy us. As far as knowing our stuff, I'm sure we're all complimented, but what we know for sure is what's working for ourselves. We're learning to express opinions and cite sources for information rather than presenting our postings as facts. This program is still pretty new among the general public, so we're all learning as we go, and very eager to shares tips and tricks we've learned.
Hi Mel, it's nice to meet you!
