cl-squirtsmama so I shall introduce myself.

My name is Melissa but I go by Mel to my family and friends so since I'm hoping a lot of you will be my friends I will go by Mel here too.  I'm 31 years old and live in Minnesota (brrr!) with my DH (Mike), 12yo DS (Sidney) and 4yo DS (Anthony).  My DH has 3 older kids you may hear me talk about every so often... Christopher (19), Steven (17) and Kate (21, married with 2 little girls).  So yes, that technically does make me a Grandmother.... EEK!

I am also a CL on the Pets Channel - Puppie Board and have been there for a couple years.  I have become very interested in the SBD since my Mom's cardiologist told her to check it out (she had heart surgery this summer) and my blood pressure is high for my age, weight, activity level.  I have been lurking on the board for a while know and you ladies sure know what you are talking about!  What a great group and I'm here to help with the support.  :)  I saw that people were upset there wasn't an active CL on the board so I applied.  Here I am.....

Monday, I put my husband on this diet and joined him to see if it would make me feel better and lower my BP, we'll see.  DH needs to loose weight and since I'm doing all the work for lunches and such he will go along with it.

So I can get to know the rest of you, please introduce yourself!

Merry Christmas

Hi Mel,

As far as I know, I'm one of the younger post-college people, but there have been quite a few college girls joining us recently, which is great :-)

I'm getting my body in order now because I'm tired of being the fat one in the family! My dad and brothers and male cousins (15 out of 18) are wrestlers, so they're constantly dieting and cutting weight and all, and my mom's a size 4. No pressure there! I wasn't even positive I wanted to do this at first, because I'm comfortable with who I am anyway, but now that I've lost 15 without feeling deprived or anxious or anything, I'm totally hooked and going all the way :-)

It's hard to say where I liked best, I liked and disliked different things about all of them. Living in New York was an incredible experience and I'm glad I did it, but I don't think I could make it my permanent home just because it's so expensive! Dating there became kind of a survival sport, really cut down on my grocery bills ;-) DC was great when I first moved there, but I was sick of it by the time I left. I'm actually considering going back to DC now because a lot of my friends still live there and I've changed careers so it won't matter as much anymore that my politics are all wrong for what's going on there now!

She's really tiny...5'3" on a tall day, lol. I take after my dad's side of the family more, we're taller, bustier, and have bigger bellies :-) The first two are nice, it's the third I need to fight!

Good to have you here.

I'm Robyn and I been on the Beach for almost three weeks. I have enjoyed the plan and greatly enjoyed the board.

Anyway, I'm 29 and trying to avoid the family curse of high blood pressure and heart disease. I have read some others cholesterol numbers and I wish mine were that low.

I have a wonderful boyfriend soon to be husband, the sweetest lab mix, and a spoiled rotten cocker spaniel.

Look forward to getting to know you more.

Shan,

I knew you had to be younger! I figured we are about the same age because of the Fresh Prince thing. I don't think anyone else really got it! :-)

No date yet. Our simple plan of running off to Haiwii keeps getting complicated by schedules.

Ellis is our cocker spaniel. She is great exercise motivator because she refuses to let anyone sleep unless she has her daily walk. I know the neighbors think I'm crazy if we go to corner and back at midnight on particularly busy days. However, this is better than a wet ball in the face at 2:00am.

Lola is our lab and she is a rescue. You just can't leave a dog at the pound that looks like Old Yeller. I want to add to that unrelated items list previously mentioned. I would love to find out if anyone else conquer their dog's seperation anxiety. I almost to point of looking for a doggy shrink.

Good luck on the wedding, getting the date and actual wedding together is the hardest part, everything else just falls into place.
