Hi there! I am in Phase 1 and have a question. I am curious...eating all these peanuts, high fat meats, cheese etc. can't it hurt us physically? I feel like we are clogging up our arteries...

Also, does eating like this help with stress/anxiety or does it work against?

Thanks everyone!

Well put, Maggie!!! You have such a wonderful way with words and get your point across so "down to earth" like. What a woman!!!! :)

Thank you so much! That was my worry...I am having chest pains too- and have been for a while. I am only 5 days new so I hope they go away soon!

As for diet, I love nuts so good! I will switch to low fat cheeses ASAP, as I couldn't find any at my local deli around the corner before.

What is hard for me is that I live in NYC and I entertain clients 4 nights a week with my job, so it is hard to eat right (with out the fat on meats) at resturants. Any suggestions?

:)

The only suggestion I can make is to stick with fish and chicken, or other lean meats, and to stay with the simplest, cleanest preparation of them - grilled or broiled. Most restaurants are actually catching on to low-carb eating, and if you ask them to hold the potato/rice/pasta and to replace it with an allowed veggie, they will do so; otherise, you're left to you own devices as far as resisting the "call of the starch" on your plate. As for the bread basket, make sure your guests are served first and see if they would be amenable to having it removed.
