Avoiding the food pushers

Ah, the Holidays and everyone is bringing in their homemade goodies. How does everyone politely turn down the bake goods, the office party birthday cake, the commitee meeting pizza, etc... without offending?

I have received a couple of sarcastic comments and a few guilt trips. Did anyone else know that it takes two days to make a real German Chocolate cake? I don't want to be the party pooper but also serious about getting rid of the unneccessary calories, fat, and sugar in my diet?

Thanks for the input!

Hi Robyn, I have a trick that I use, and it almost always works.

I make my doctor the Bad Guy.

Maybe, my doctor is Dr. Agatston too.

I'm sure this will work better than faking the allergic tick I've suddenly developed to sugar. LOL

Thanks

OK, I have figured out every engineering acronym and nearly every medical one that I've ever needed to, but you've stumped me, and I'm blushing in advance because I'm sure that this one is going to be too easy. What's KWIM??

Depending on who it is, I just say no thank you. MIL is horrible about this and I've learned to just get rude about it. I tell her, "don't push food on me!" I learned this from my husband, his brothers, and sister. It hurts her feelings for a few minutes but just as quick she gets over it. I know it sounds horrible but you would have to know her and how pushy and rude she can be. I HAVE to be firm.

It's all in how they are as to how it's handled.

It's unfortunate that your co-workers are that way. I have found that when I have someone trying to push bad foods on me I tell them that I can eat that because it affects my blood sugar. It works every time, becuase then they think it's some kind of medical reason. :-)
