can't deal with cravings today

AHH! I am so stressed out with all the work I have right now with finals starting Monday, and term papers piled high, AND that wonderful time of the month is just around the corner, that I have had the WORST cravings for carbs and sugars all day! I have tried to be good, but def ODed on the nuts and PB today, I've already had my ricotta dessert, and i just ate a fudge bar as well. I feel like all day all I've done is eat, and eat, and eat, and I'm SO frustrated because the cravings just WILL NOT go away. Hoping tomorrow will be a bit better...I'm trying so hard not to cheat, but it's difficult, esp when I feel like if I have one bad thing, the cravings will stop, but I don't want to do that, so I eat more PB and nuts than I know I should. I haven't weighed myself yet this week to see if I have lost any weight (it's my first week on phase 1)but I feel like my recent binges are going to effect my weight loss and I will not be happy with the results when I (hopefully) get to the gym tomorrow and get on that scale. Sorry about the rant, I just feel kind of defeated and frustrated today.

Nicole,

Rant away! We all go through it sooner or later...here are some of my cravings tricks, I hope they help you.

I ALWAYS keep a pack of Extra sugarfree gum with me. When I want something I shouldn't have, I pop in a piece and chew it until the flavor's gone. Usually, the craving goes away. If it doesn't, I have just a little bit of whatever it was I wanted so bad. Break off the little bit and put it in another container, or hide the rest or whatever!

I do the same thing with water if I don't have gum handy for some reason. Drink a glass, it will fill your stomach and if you're still hungry for whatever it is, you'll eat less of it.

Don't ever tell yourself you can't have something, that just makes you want it more. Tell yourself you'll have it if (whatever you think you should do first).

Take care,

Shan

I have been through to monthly visits while on SBD. The first time I ignored my cravings and ate EVERYTHING (allowed) in sight. I gained a couple of the pounds that I had lost. The second time I cheated slightly, very slightly. My craving was cured and I found that I was still pound less the next day.

I lost 9 pounds in a month (2 weeks P1 and 2 weeks P2)

120/111/108

I have been pretty bad this week... no losses but no gains.

My goal is to remain at this weight through the holidays and finish those last 5 at the begining of the year.

Good luck... monthly cravings really stink!
