Hi - I'm on day 8 and doing really well. I find these boards really helpful and have gotten some great ideas from other members.

A lot of you seem young ( at least younger than I ) and I was wondering if there are any members who are my age - 56 next month.

I go to the gym 3 times a week, and even though I don't PMS anymore, since arriving in post menopausal land, I've gained weight without even trying.

I'm just wondering how many members are around my age and trying to get this after 50 weight off. :)

Hi there, I'm 44 and have noticed in just the past couple of years that it's much more of a fight now to get where I want to be, like you said.

I'm 50 and had to start the SBD 6 weeks ago because my post-menopausal body apparently found 15 lbs no one else wanted and claimed it for it's own! You girls that are still in your 40's have no idea what's coming!!!!! I have always been active and fit, but no matter what I did, the weight would not come off for over 2 years. Well, I'm happy to say SBD is working. I've posted before that I only lost 4 lbs the 2nd day, and nothing after that, so went on to Phase 2. I've lost a pound a week, and am down to 122!!!! Only 7 more to go. This is a very healthy diet, a very easy diet, and best of all, it works. It does help to enter this age somewhat fit, and when I get it back again, I plan on keeping it. I have high hopes that Phase 3 will enable me to do that. Thanks for writing and I thank you all for listening. It's nice to have this board to be my support.

I am 45. Yes it is even harder to lose weight and maybe not so much that but keeping it off! When I was in my 20's and 30's not so much a problem. I too am going through the change and boy does that slow things down. I have found this is the best way of eating for me. I am an "almost empty nester". My son is a freshman in college. I thought I had to learn how to live without him, but he has been coming home every weekend! LOL See your not alone.

Hi... I'm also new here and am only 23. I started the SBD to help encourage my mom to follow it, and also to help my own helth. Although I am young I have a heart condition, which makes exercising difficult for me. I do diabetes research and have seen the aweful complications that can arise from hypoglycemia and such. I really just want to get healthy and create a routine that keeps me so. That plus I have a long-term boyfriend who needs to keep in shape for work and am trying to encourage him to try to follow the diet (or the basics behind it). I don't have children but I have a cat who might as well be one. Welcome to the board and hope to see you around.
