Help! Bad day--Fighting Psych. Cravings!

Oh Wow...did I ever have a rotten, stressful day at work. I ate dinner about 30 minutes ago and I know that technically, I'm not hungry. But my oh my...do I want chocolate!!!! I know it is a psychological craving...but how do I fight it? I'm afraid if I try to eat other approved foods, they won't satisfy the craving and I'll end up going for the chocolate in the end anyway. Plus, I would have consumed all those other things while trying to stop the chocolate cravings!

HELP!

Hi Susan,

I usually have 1 SF Fudgsicle every night as my sweet treat around 8 PM. I have a candy dish filled with Hershey Kisses for my kids and they were staring me in the face as soon as I had eaten dinner. I knew I wasn't hungry and it was a psychological craving, but man...was it tough to fight it off. I didn't have any semi-sweet chocolate chips in the house and no fruit, so I made myself put on some head banging music and walk on the treadmill for a bit and then allowed myself 2 SF Fudgsicles. That did the trick. It was tough but when I got on the scale this morning I was glad I stuck it out. I couldn't tell how much I had lost for sure, because the stupid number was fluctuating while I was standing still. But even the highest number it showed would have been a 1/2 pound loss from the day before. So, I was happy. Today will likely be just as stressful, but I brought some SF FF Pudding in White Chocolate in for my treat after lunch. So, hopefully, that will help so I'm not ready to devour every morsel of chocolate in the house when I get home!

Thanks for the info and for your help!!!

Hugs,

Hi Cyndie, I'm sorry you had such a bad night!

Have you ever had the Mocha Ricotta Creme'?

Mel,

I haven't tried any of the Ricotta Creme Desserts yet. I don't normally like ricotta cheese in stuff like lasagna or stuffed shells, so I assumed I wouldn't like it. I'll have to buy some and give it a try since I hear so many great things about them on here.

I realized last night when I wanted the chocolate so bad, that it was from the stress and not because I was hungry. So, I just had to figure out another way to handle it. I knew if I allowed myself one Hersey Kiss, I would have eaten the whole blessed candy dish full!!!!

Thanks for the tip, Mel. You gals are the greatest!!!
