Is it normal to be hungry the first few days? Or at least the first day? And just a question for those past P1, when do you start to notice that you've lost weight. By the end of P1 or earlier?

Congratulations on starting! The first few days were the toughest for me, but it does get much better. Snack healthfully until satisfied...don't go hungry! I also found that taking fiber as the book recommends 15-30 minutes before eating helped me feel "full"...but look out for the "end result" of the fiber...things move through smoothly!! I'm only on day 8 of phase 1, but looking forward to the next week!

Good luck!

I've posted this before, but I think it is good information for your specific question. I lost 4 lbs the 2nd day, and then nothing for 10 days. I never cheated and exercised a lot. Well, the board suggested maybe I was already 'detoxed', so I went straight to P2. I've been losing a pound a week, every week, 8 lbs total. I only wanted to lose about 15, so I am very happy.

Also, the second week, I was absolutely starving!!!! I had hunger pains like you wouldn't believe and even the hungry-hiccups! (and remember, I wasn't losing ANY weight!) So I increased my portions, and broke my meals down into 5-6 mini-meals. It took about a week or so to go away. Also the metamucil does its job. Hang in there, you will be glad you did!

Don't go hungry, if you are hungry you aren't doing something right.

I hear you!! I'm on Day 2 and I'm having a hard time. I know it will get easier. I really have to sit down and write a few meal and snack ideas. I don't think I'd be as hungry if I got everything together the night before. Will definately do things differently for tomorrow. After work yesterday I took a walk around the block (and my business is at the bottom of the hill) while my car was warming up, felt great!! Good Luck and just remember, you're not the only one who's going through the same thing. Grit your teeth, we can do this!!
