Hi there! I am a married 33 yo sahm to 3 boys soon to be starting grad school. I bought the SBD book yesterday and began today. I am really excited at the prospect of losing some weight and also I needed to change my eating habits because I have elevated cholesteral. I have tried to diet myself but always felt hungry or had problems with feeling hungry within an hour of eating..probably due to the simple carbs I was ingesting. I've learned a lot about nutrition just from reading this book. I do wonder how I'm going to juggle following this diet for myself and still feed my family the foods they like. Should be interesting. Hopefully, I'll be able to change their eating habits as well. :)

I'm glad I found this board. Everyone seems so knowledgable and supportive.

Welcome to the board Stacey!
It will be easy to feed your family... just make a box of pasta & serve it to them as a side dish all week.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm not planning to change my boys' diets much at all. I think my concern is that I will be eating differently than the rest of the family. I'm not worried about temptation for myself, just the logistics.

Thanks again

Stacie, once you are in phase III, you can have those special treats with them once in a while without any negative results!
