suggestions for quick prep time foods

I wanted to ask people what things have they bought at the grocery for a quick meal. For example I buy these chicken hot dogs. I think they're really good, some with red peppers and basil some with feta and spinach. I also went to Costco and just bought a big bag of celery, romaine lettuce, asparagus, eggs so that I don't have to keep going to the store. Any other ideas for time saving techniques?

Thanks,

-Kristina

This is the ingredients list and break down for the chicken sausages I get. They don't seem to be bad or wrong for the diet. Please let me know if I'm wrong.

Thanks,

Quick dinners for me include:

homemade caesar salad w/o croutons (the salad spinner is my new best friend)

grilled chicken with jerk rub

grilled salmon with lots of different sauces

baked sea bass with lots of different sauces

sometimes a small thin whitefish quickly seared on the stove with alittle lemon juice, capers and butter (an sbd friendly sole meuniere)

all of those can be made with steamed veggies in less than 15 minutes, including prep time. faster than it takes for the takeout to get there!

good luck!

Hope

Hi Kristina,

The ingredient list looks wholesome without things like corn syrup solids and other things that many processed foods sneak into products.

It doesn't say what part of the chicken meat is being used in the sausages, but I assume a good bit of dark meat is in it because one link has 8g fat and 3g saturated fat.

Here's a quicky breakfast or 2:

Spray cup with cooking spray.... pour in some EggBeaters (or scrambled eggs), a sprinkle of lowfat cheese & anything else veggie you might have ready.

I'll bump it up. The curry sauce isn't phase I, but you can try mixing curry powder with mayo (made from eggs).
