It's not fair!!

I have been being very good on this "diet". I know that's a bad word but, I'm mad. I have not cheated but I'm back up to 135! I started at 137, lost 7 lbs steadily and then all of a sudden it started creaping back on and I don't know why. I have bee working hard, but not working out *sigh* and it's not fair. I can't get much stricter, I don't think. Is it maybe skipping meals? Sometimes in the morning when I am in a hurry I slide past breakfast. Could that be it? I drink tons of water, follow the food list and now I'm sad. Any ideas or suggestions to what I'm doing wrong? I was really "gung ho" about this new WOE but if I've been working my butt of and it's not working then why?

Waaaaahhhhhh!

Jessi,

<>

These things happen to everyone, and you're doing the right thing by trying to figure out how to get back on track instead of giving up. So, a couple of things...

Skipping meals may be contributing to the backslide. I posted yesterday about how I was just not hungry and found myself missing meals. Today I had one of those inexplicable gains again, which I'm hoping will come back off quickly, and I think that may be the reason.

I've also found that my biggest dips have come after I increased my exercise program. You might want to add some cardio exercise a couple of days a week to get yourself jumpstarted again.

Which phase are you in? I hit a big stall at the end of Phase 1, but once I switched over to Phase 2 I started dropping again. If you're in a plateau on Phase 2, you might want to do a couple of days of Phase 1 again. Sometimes you just need to change the routine a little bit to get your body moving again. So I would just change to the other phase for a few days and see what happens.

Good luck!

Oh Jessi, I'm so sorry but there has to be a reason for the jump back up.

Try not to skip any meals... when you eat your body turns on its metabolism... if you don't eat and are hungary then your body goes into fasting mode where it will store everything it can, so even if you aren't hungary or are in a big hurry then you should at least eat a snack... and remember to have at least 2 non-meal snacks a day to keep your metabolism running. Keep at it and don't give up now!

okay here is yesterday...

Breakfast: 2 HB eggs

Snack: 1 string cheese

Lunch: Turkey salad (choped up turkey breast, mayo, mustard, onion & celery)

Dinner: Grilled catfish w/zucchini, small glass of Kool-aid made w/Splenda

Dessert: SF Fudgesicle

Water: 3 1/2 20oz bottles of Dasani

That was it! That's how most of my days go...I don't sneak a taste of something "bad" or anything like that. I even have regular BM (sorry...TMI!?). I guess I should throw in a little exercise, huh? But still...I don't get what I'm doing wrong. It's not like I just stalled, I lost and then gained and that's what freaks me out. I could've handled just staying at 130 but to go back up? *sniffle*

Hi Jessi,

It looks like you need to add a bit more to get your metabolism kicked in.

I don't think I read about in which phase you were eating, so I am going to try to see if I can't help out a little bit.

OK. Where are veggies? You should be eating you veggies and legumes. Oh my! If you are on phase 1 and early phase 2, legumes will give you what you need through carbs to get your going and get your metabolism going as well. With this WOE, eating less is going hurt and stall you rather than thrill and move you. Try getting in a little more water as well. Here is a phase 1 meal for me.

Breakfast

1 hard boiled egg and turkey sausage with decaf apple tea

Snack

Cheese stick or cashews

Lunch

Turkey chili with Red Beans (1 Cup) and 1 cup other veggie

1 oz 2%cheese

Sugar free jello

Snack

Nuts or cheese (depended on what I had in the Am)

Dinner

Chicken Breast, Onions, peppers, garlic, brocolli sauteed with blackbeans and 1 oz pepper cheese

Sugar Free Kool Aid

Dessert

Ricotta Creme (half recipie)

160 oz water

Exercise

Run, Pilates, Elliptical, Abs, Floor, Stretch

HTH... I just like to eat, and i have been able to stick with this. I never feel deprived.

Jessi, your menu looks great, except that you need to make sure you get 1/2 cup veggies at breakfast, and TWO cups at lunch AND dinner!

Jessie-

one other thought...there have been times when my weight has stalled because i was doing something wrong...there have been times when it stalled and i was doing everything just fine and my body needed some time to readjust (or something)...also, twice, i've just gotten on the scale and said "this can't be right." i had gained like 3 pounds in three days for no reason whatsoever. and you know what...three days later, it went away. it turned out the scale wasnt right.

these guys on this board are smart. their advice is good. but sometimes,

you can't always pinpoint what's going wrong...sometimes you just gotta have faith.

keep your chin up.

hope
