What do you eat when you sick?
| Tue, 12-16-2003 - 5:44pm |
I'm sick. Again. I don't know if it is the flu, but I have a fever, my lower back and neck are killing me, and I have a cough that won't end.
What do I eat? I'm not hungry, and I've been sipping water. Nothing works for me. GA beach Girl, what did you eat? Any ideas would be helpful.

Ria,
Sorry to hear you're sick again. It's a bad year this year, I think. I always have to water down the chicken broth--too strong for me, otherwise. It's the best natural decongestant I know of (other than sicky sniffing of salt water, which I refuse to do except when extremely desperate!). I usually try to mix one part chix broth with one part water, such as 1 cup chix broth, one cup water.

Hi Ria, sorry to hear that you're sick!

As for eating when I'm sick, I live by the "it's gonna kill me or cure me" rule. I don't go out of my way to eat things like Brussels sprouts (even when I'm well), but I try to eat a little of all the normal foods to see what will stay down. Then I just progress from there as I start to feel better.
Get well soon!

I had to come to work today because I have been hyping a cookie party with the kids all last week. Soooooo.... there are 6 dozen ready made cookies ready to be baked, milk, punch, and candy for them to eat. Thank GOODNESS I can't taste or smell anything right now. lol. I was be all on those cookies.

I have to fudge a little when I feel bad because I get really really picky about what to eat. I think chicken and rice soup is usually good. My momma always made us what we call "Sick Potato Soup" but that's not at all legal on this diet! I wonder if it would work with sweet potatoes?? Hmmm.
I hope you feel better soon.

I'm sorry Ria that you are sick, I hope you get better soon.
I eat toast with butter on it or some chicken soup when I'm sick.
