Hey everyone--

I've never posted here before but I'm all ready to start the South Beach Diet on Dec 29. I've read the book and I know all the rules, but I'm wondering...have any of you joined (or heard about) SouthBeachDiet.com? I'm wondering if it would be beneficial to become a member of the site, to keep me on track. Please respond and let me know if it's a good buy or a waste of money. Thanks! And Happy Holidays to everyone!

Hi euterpr2003, welcome to the board!

I agree with Maggie about the SouthBeachDiet.com website, it's too expensive for me to use and I can get all the information from here for free.

Thanks for your help guys! I was happy to see two replies in a matter of about five hours--that's great! It's nice to find so much support here. As for southbeachdiet.com, I'm still considering it. I'm a college student, so money *should* be an issue, but I think I could put $30 of Christmas money toward a subscription to the site. I'm not sure yet, but I just really want this diet to work, and I know it will if I follow it, but I'm afraid I'll let myself stray from the principles if I don't have a set plan to follow. I think it would be useful to me to have a meal plan set out (one that I can change--since I don't like everything set out in the book). If anyone else is still out there and has used the site, I'd still really like your input. Thanks so much everyone!

i think if u want the diet to work and u haven't got the money.... u should give the first phase of the SBD a try and if u can stick with that then pay the money, there's no use paying money for something u may fail at, especially when all the information you will get is free on ivillage and you will be posting on the board w/real live people that like you are going through the same trials and stress of trying to lose weight!

good luck, M3G

I agree with

Join only if you feel you need the extra incentive (for me it was "I am paying for this, I am going to follow it precisely and get my money's worth".

Wow, thanks everyone for all the advice!! I think what I've decided to do is start SBD on the 29th, give it a week or two and then if I still want to I will join SBD.com. Maybe just having that in mind will be a little incentive to stick with the diet for 2 weeks!! :) Anyway, thanks again everyone, I really appreciate all the help. Happy Holidays!
