I was so BAD last night it's not funny!

But ya know I don't care!  It was sooo awesome to be that bad, LOL.

Yesterday I got a call from some friends of ours that they wanted to go out for dinner and celebrate so I jumped in and said, that's great, we're going.  They picked DH and I up at 6:30 and we went to Red Lobster (haven't been there in ages).  I went to dinner with an open mind and was going to be so good but then threw all caution to the wind since it was a celebration (their engagement, his new job, her finals over, and to great friends).  I had a glass of RED wine and it was ok, I'm going to have to start liking the bolder taste of it if I'm going to survive.  LOL  And one of their cheesy, garlic biscuits but redeemed myself with the ceasar salad and no croutons.  It was all down hill after that.  LOL  Shrimp scampi, stuffed flounder and scallops/shrimp that were stuffed too... I was in heaven.

After dinner we went to the Cold Stone Creamery for dessert and OMWord, that is a HUGE thing of ice cream that I only had about 5 bites of and brought it home to my kids.  So, all in all I wasn't THAT bad but I didn't care if I was.  LOL  I'm back to the norm today and trying to redeem myself.

I didn't know that being bad felt so good!

You've been so good, you deserve a treat! And from the looks of it, you weren't "too" bad! Good for you! I'm sure your kiddos loved the ice cream as well!

It's motivating to see others deal with real life and not beat themselves up for it! You're back on track today, and you've definitely got the right attitude!

We tried Body for Life a while back, and one of the principles there was to allow yourself one cheat day per week. On that day you didn't have to exercise or follow any plans, but eat whatever you like. It didn't take long for that one day of indulgence to lose its appeal, because your body feels like lead the next day (for a lack of 4-letter words appropriate for this site!)

I like the SBD approach much better, allowing us to make it a WOE for life with treats here and there. BFL was far too strict on the exact meal plans, shakes and precise exercise ("today upper body strength training with exactly one minute between reps...") I'm finding SBD much easier to work into our busy lifestyle!

Making healthier choices is what it's got to be about, not depriving ourselves.

Mel...I wouldn't feel bad at all. It all sounds so yummy and not completely bad for you. You deserved it! And your body is thanking you. I'm still in my first stage so I have been sticking to it. Once I can maintain then I'll have a yummy treat like yours.

Congrats on your tests too! See you had another reason to celebrate!
