Hi All,

I wrapped up my business trip early so I am back home a day early. I logged into this and cannot believe how many messages I have to read now to catch up!!! It may take me a while to find any posts that have now gotten buried...but I'll try!!! Times like this I wish I had a faster connection to the web!

Anyway, I had no access to a scale all week. My hotel room had a full kitchen in it, so I made my own breakfast (same as at home) and packed my lunch each day (a salad with chicken and SF Jello. We ate out each night, but I thought I was being very good. I knew when I was ordering things with cheese, that it more likely than not, wasn't LF or FF cheese, but I didn't think that would kill me. I got on the scale this morning and gained a pound and a half!!!! I was so bummed. I ate no bread, no desserts, no potatoes, no fruit, no dairy other than cheese. I was drinking 64 oz of water a day. I have no idea why I gained.

I was planning on doing P2 next week for Christmas week, but now I'm not so sure since I gained again.

AND...I travel again for the first two weeks in January. I can't afford to gain both of those weeks like I did this week.

I am so darn discouraged now.

Thanks for listening,

Cyndie

Cyndie,

I know what you mean about friends on the SBD board. Although I love talking offline, too, I find myself truly enjoying ivillage, as well!

After a plane trip, someone here suggested that the few pounds I seemed to have gained could have been water weight that would leave after a few days. You didn't say whether you went by air or otherwise, but perhaps this is an explanation for you, as well? For me, the 2 or 3 pounds were gone in a week, and I continued on Phase 2 during that time. I ate breakfast in the hotel (Phase 1 style), sometimes skipped lunch, and was served an early dinner with the group I traveled with. I tried to eat Phase 2 style for dinner, but didn't always succeed--I wasn't going to skip the Asian-style noodles and various home-cooked

Hi! I wouldn't fret too much about the minor weight gain: 1) You don't know what is used in restaurant cooking - flour thickeners, sweeteners, butter, etc. 2)you're away on business - not your usual environment, concentrate on doing everything as well as you can - and if that's not enough - that's okay!!! Don't be too hard on yourself :-)

I hope that helps....

Enjoy the Holidays - everyhthing will be fine

Please don't be upset. We all have those days. If it makes you feel better, when I went to Mexico in November, I was 8 lbs heavier than when I left....

But I lost it and more so no worries ok. Enjoy your trip and you holidays.
