Say, Let's commit to Phase 1 on Jan 2nd!

I was doing pretty good until I saw a chocolate cupcake being given out by a vendor. At least it was already cut in half. But I just can't resist and don't even want to resist everything at this time of year.
But I can see making a clean start over the day after New Year's Day. By then I will be rid of my fruit and rid of any chocolate candies, and rid of any alcohol I purchased to celebrate the holidays.
The world will be ready to think about dieting too.
So here is my written commitment to start over Jan 2, 2004.

She's back! She's back!! She's back!!!
Good to see you here again, Irene. I've missed you, our first Phase 3-er on this board and prototype-personal-SBDer!
How's Seattle these days???
You've been gone for a while! Welcome back.
Don't you love this plan? Just move back and forth through the phases as needed, no guilt, no big deal. DH and I are visiting his mom for a week, leaving Dec. 22. She's done Atkins before, so she's sensitive to our wanting to stay on the Beach, but who knows what kinds of goodies we will indulge in?? Certainly on Christmas Day we will indulge. Plus, we have to have real Mexican food since we're going to Albuquerque, and we live in Connecticut!
Irene, I'm with you on phase 1 come January!! Hope you enjoy the holidays!!

But yes,I've got to get back into eating right.
I plan to go very low saturated fats. Using only egg substitute or Eggland eggs, Lowest fat cheese, very lean meats only. And I plan to watch nuts very carefully this time.
I bet this board will be red hot in January.

Sounds good to me. I was afraid you were in and then we lost ya again. I've been missing you since summer...you were one of the original posters, were you not
I'm thinking I should not wait until Jan 2nd. I need to start the day after Christmas. At least staying away from sugar and starch.
I'm planning on making a big chart with at least 7 boxes and as each day goes by that I eat "on plan" I will put a big red star in each box. I figure I need to get through at least a whole week before I can say I'm losing my sugar cravings.
Remember: Thin Tastes Better. (And tight pants hurt.)

I am restarting on Dec 27. We are staying over at my mom's on Christmas night and coming home sometime Friday. My kids are then going to their other grandparents with their Dad that weekend, so I figure I will start Saturday morning. I didn't want to wait another week for Jan 2.
That sounds like a good idea about the 7 box thing. I may do that, too...plus a gold star for days I get my exercise in. I need drastic help staying on track with that...I will make an excuse not to do it over something like a hangnail!
I have been so bad this week I stopped getting on a scale...so I hope it doesn't shock my system too bad when I get on it Saturday morning again and see how much of my 15 pound loss I've gained back! :(
Good luck to you and everyone else starting or starting again after the holidays!
Hugs to all,
Cyndie
