I am dying for something crunchy!! I know I can't have chips but is there anything close? I'vce seen those vegetable crisps in the store, can I have them? They aren't made of potatoes. I looked at the carbs but I know we don't count them so I wasn't sure. Is there a certain brand of tortilla chips or something I can have. HELP, I'm having a crunch attack. I need to crunch. Any ideas?

TIA,

Jessi

Jessie - How about some nuts? Crunchy for sure. Are you also craving something salty or something with a rich "mouth feel"? I'm not advocating high-sodium snacks, but how about salted peanuts or cashews? Salt, a little bit of crunch, and a bit of richness to the taste.

Celery with some chunky PB, raw fennel (that bulb veggie that tastes like licorice), even iceberg or Romaine lettuce (especially the thick rib part) will do in a pinch.

Hope that helps!

I can't remember what phase you are in but what about WASA or RY-CRIPS crackers with a little PB on it?

Rye Crisps, huh? I'm not sure the commissary has those. Is there a certain brand? How many am I allowed? Does anyone know about those Veggie Crisps? They are by From Snyder's, the pretzel people.

I'm not a big nut person, per se, but in the last 3 weeks I have had my share of pistachios and peanuts. I'm pretty pooped of nuts. But thanks for the suggestion. I'm trying to get as close to chips as I can without cheating :o)

I saw those chips at Sam's the other day and picked them up and looked.

Hi Jessi,

If you are on Phase 2, thinly slice some sweet potatoes spray with olive oil & sprinkle with salt.

Jessi,

Cheese crisps are the closest thing I've found to chips (not sure who posted that recipe).
