How many carb grams per day do you have?

Hi ya'll! Hope everyone's succeeding! I haven't checked in here in a while. Started on 12/1, almost pulled my hair out for the first five days while I went through carb detox, and then about the sixth day the cravings subsided. Go figure... the book was right. Anyway, as of today I've lost 9 lbs! Woohoo! So, I'm still kinda in Phase 1, because I'm scared to death to leave it for fear of gaining, or a stall in losing. I have however noticed that in the last week I've been cheating more than usual, and I know I need to get it together and get back on track, but there are just sooo many goodies within my reach over these holidays. Okay... so on to the real reason for my post. I'm having more and more trouble getting creative with my meals, and I think that may also play a factor in my cheating. So, even though we're not supposed to count carbs, I'm hoping someone can tell me ABOUT how many carb grams is an acceptable number in any given day. At one time I had heard something like 60 or so. I feel like I can get more creative with the means if I can count the carbs instead of just using the "acceptable" food list in the book. Thanks for any responses!!

My opinion might not be a popular one but I am going to share it anyway. I don't believe you should count carbs. I think the reason you are cheating is because your body needs the carbs. I believe you should give your body what it wants just make sure you chose healthy ones. You should move in to phase 2!! I stayed in phase 1 longer than I should have and the same thing happened. Once I moved on to phase 2 and added back the carbs I found it to be so much easier to stay with this WOE. I kept losing up until I went to phase 3 right before Thanksgiving. I have maintained my weight loss the last month and will go back to phase 2 after the holidays.

I eat bread (whole grain), fruits, and milk propducts everyday with no counting at all. This is truly a way I can eat for ever.

I agree with Michelle: Go to Phase 2. You might want to add foods one at a time, but definitely go to Phase 2.

I too agree with both ladies and think you should move to P2.
