HELP...Before I start phase one

I just bought the book and noticed there are exact menus for the first 2 weeks. Do you have to follow those menus? I don't have time to prepare them. Do I have choices and can I make up my own menus? How about restaurants ...any suggestions?

I have been doing some travelling for my job and eat in restaurants every night while I'm gone. I try to stick with stuff like a grilled chicken caesar salad (tell them to hold the croutons)...or a steak (sirloin, filet mignon or NY Strip)...fajitas but just don't eat the tortillas...grilled chicken, etc.
Ruby Tuesday has changed their menu to add Carb Smart items on it. They even offer the "mashed cauliflower" as a side dish! The only place where I've eaten out that I had trouble finding something to fit on this plan was Pizza Hut...but I just scraped the toppings off the pizza and ate those but not the crust.
