Good Morning Beach goers! Please read this... I've got a few things going and want to make sure I get everyone in on everything they want to be involved with. For roll call state your name AND your ivillage id (easier for me to copy/paste if it's in the post itself), then let us know what phase you are in & how long on the beach. Then state which things I can sign you up for.
#1 - - Board Pride! (A challenge)
Let's show ivillage how well south beach works... Look at these stats http://www.ivillage.com/diet/boards/ (it shows how many lbs other boards have lost, how far they have walked, etc. in November). I want us to show ivillage how wonderful & easy the beach is. If you sign up for this challenge, I ask you to measure and weight yourselves Jan 1st.... you can keep these numbers to yourself (just save them where you can easily access them). On the last day of each month I will post a Monthly results type thread, and ask you all to share your progress with us (how many lbs lost, and how many inches). so we can proudly display our board's progress.
What do you say? Who is in? If in, measure your chest, waist, upper arms, hips & thighs... and diaphram (that spot right under your boobs). Just record those stats somewhere (in email you send to yourself, or a document), and also your weight.
#2 - Board Buddies
OLDIES: I need lots more Experienced members to buddy up with newbies (our membership here will soon be EXPLODING!). Please sign up if you can offer support to a new member. You just need to have been on the beach for at least 2 weeks (which means you are starting phase II). You can buddy up with more than one member (I plan to have 4 buddies) - PLEASE let me know how many I can pair you up with!! You can email with them or just look for their posts here and offer support. PLEASE sign up! I have individual sign ups in each phase's folders.... Please tell us about yourself there, and browse the phase I sign ups. If there is someone you are especially interested in being paired with email me (include your & your buddy's name AND ivillage id). Otherwise I will start pairing up on my own.
Newbies: Please tell us about yourselves in the Buddy sign up in the Phase I folder. Then browse the other folder sign ups and see if there is anyone you think you might want, otherwise I will just pair you up with a friendly beacher.

Depending on your age, I'll bet you have enjoyed your name at times, and wished to change it at others! :-)
I work 5 days a week and am a carb junkie. It's not so much the sweet things but the savoury things like chips and savoury biscuits that are my downfall. I also love McDonalds breakfasts.
I am going to bali on the 17th january for 10 days and would like this belly of mine to be lot less than it is. I would also like the bloated feeling to be gone.
So tomorrow is the day. Not sure what you need to sign me up for or anything just wanted to touch base.

Hello. I am megs55...obviously, Megs! I started South Beach, Phase I only, this past summer, and lost about 6 lbs. the first two weeks. However, I fell off the wagon when my SS (18) returned
I'd like to lose fifty pounds and keep on my exercise program three times a week. (Curves) I'm 52 years old, no children but have two siamese cats and a great husband (who kindly doesn't mention my gains!). I write science fiction and historical books- hope to finish them in 2004 and get published.
I look forward to buddying up with someone and joining in the posts. Losing weight and exercising can be a process of discovery (oh, there are my toes) and accomplishment (those next size jeans we have hanging waiting in the closet). It should be a fun journey all together!

I am Cindy (cindycm04). I actually bought the South Beach book yesterday and read the entire book last night. It all makes perfect sense. I am going to the grocery store today to stock up and will be starting tomorrow. I would love a buddy to help motivate and give advice.

I'm Debbie (takanddebbie) and I started P1 on 12/01. Mid-way through week 3 I started mixing in some P2 dishes, and then hosted the entire family for the holidays. Mom just left today, and I'm ready to revisit P1 and jumpstart the new year! I've got about 50 pounds to lose, and I know this board is full of wonderful people with tons of support and advice. I'm more of a lurker with an occasional opinion to share, not making it to the board every day. That might not make me the best to buddy with, but if I can help anyone I will try! Susan, I'm not ready to face the cold, cruel numbers yet, but I will probably be more receptive once I see results again.
