New here w/lots of questions.....

Hi, I haven't actually started the SBD, but I am thinking about it. I do have some questions though..
1. Is it possible to eat something other than eggs/quiche for breakfast? I'm not much of an egg eater and I hate quiche.
2. Do all the recipes include seafood and cooked veggies? I don't eat those either... I do love raw veggies though..
3. Is it possible to keep my morning coffee tasting good (w/irish cream creamer) or still have good tasting dressing on my salad(I love ranch and only ranch).
Thanks. I'm trying to find a diet that will work for me. This one sounds good since I am a major carb addict and I need to cut down on carbs. But it won't work if I can't eat what I like....

Let me try to take a shot at your questions.
1. Breakfast. This is a two part answer. In phase 1, when you're eliminating carbs from your system, it's a little challenging if you dont enjoy eggs. I didnt either, so i found that cottage cheese and some slices of tomato worked for me. I had a friend who ate mozzarella and tomato sandwiches (no bread) and some people on the board have gotten by with turkey rollups. The good news is that it only lasts two weeks. After that, you can have all sorts of great stuff, like oatmeal with peanut butter or whole grain cereals (kashi go lean crunch is my favorite) or whole grain toast with spread. As long as it has good carbs, you're good to go.
2. Meals. This is really easy. Main meals need a protein source and some vegetables. That's it. It can be marinated flank steak, roasted chicken, whatever you like. And your vegetables can be raw or cooked, it's completely up to you. The greatest thing about this WOE is that once you figure out the system, it's really not that hard at all and is *very* adaptable to your lifestyle. I've had tons of salads because they're easy for me to pick up near my office, so lots more of my vegetables are raw these days. It's really completely up to you.
3. Coffee. Can't live without it. Had to include it. The fat free half and half that the book recommends is really quite good. With that and some splenda or equal, you should be in great shape. I might be a little worried about some of the flavored creamers that there might be sugars in there that you dont want. So in the beginning i would personally stay away from them. But you have to find what works for you. Some people here have mentioned that caffeine has increased their food cravings, but I didnt have that experience. I would have been too hard for me to have given up caffeine while starting this, so i kept it around and so far it's worked for me.
Best of luck to you, whatever you decide.
Hope
1.) Yes, you can eat something other than eggs for breakfast. You can really have anything from the allowed list...some eat leftovers from the night before, some eat ham and cheese rolled up, etc. Do you like V8 juice or tomato juice? This is important to get in your 1/2 cup of veggies for breakfast. If you don't like those, remember to add in some other veggies instead.
2.) No, you don't have to use seafood or cooked veggies. I don't eat much seafood, and like you, don't care for cooked veggies. I tend to get most of mine from salads...until I start feeling like a rabbit!!! :) I know many on here love beans and like them on here for the fiber and how full they make you feel...but personally, I hate beans more than most any other veggie.
3.) You shouldn't have dairy on P1, but the Dr. does allow a splash of FF 1/2 and 1/2. Land of Lakes makes a good one. But, if you can't live without your irish creamer, then go for it! As for salad dressings, you will need to check how many grams of sugar are in it...stick with 3 grams or less. Ranch dressings should fit that criteria.
Hope that helped!!
