New Year's Dinner
| Wed, 12-31-2003 - 10:22am |
Our traditional New Year's Dinner is pork and sauerkraut, but I need to be sure that's an ok dinner. I'll obviously be skipping the mashed potatoes, but don't want to miss out on our entire dinner. Tomorrow will only be day 3 for me, so I really don't want to eat something I shouldn't.
Do ya'll think it'll be ok to eat the pork and sauerkraut?
Thanks...
Diane

Sounds good to me - and SBD friendly. Don't forget to trim any visible areas of fat before you eat.
I saw a "y'all" in your post - are you from the South and do you eat black-eyed peas for good fortune in the new year? I think that's a cool tradition.
Enjoy your dinner!
Donna
I agree, pork and sauerkraut are fine, even on Phase 1!

I'm from the south, and I grew up in "Gone with the Wind" territory. We do the black eyed peas, cornbread, pork loin, and green thing. It's been a tradition. Another tradition we have is New Year's Eve. The family and friends have been getting together over the years (adding some, missing some, and gaining some) for fireworks and food. We have cheese enchiladas, lasagna, and homeade hot sauce (masugo sauce). It's our tradition combined with lots of spirits. tee hee. Always look forward to it. This year, we made homeade tamales with lean beef. Hey, I know, it wasn't SBD friendly at all. lol. But it was soooooooooooooooo good!
