Not loosing pounds/inches

Hi everyone,
I'm on day 7 of Phase one of the SBD, and believe it or not haven't lost a pound....actually, I don't have a scale at home (I'm visiting family for 2 months)but I do have a tape messure, and my clothes! hehe...Anyway, I am trying to figure out what I may be doing wrong. I guess I should first start by saying that even before I strted the program I ate very little (on very rare ocassion) rice, pasta and potatoes. But I did indulge in bread, cereals and sweets.....love sweets. Anyway I know that my weight is starting to go up, and allthough I'm preatty active (no at the moment-- remember I'm not home) I could never seem to loose the last "10 lbs.".
Anyway....I now need to loose 18lbs. And decided to finally take charge of my weight with a very healthy attitud. But I seem to be getting a little bit lost on the whole "meal plans". I'm a semi vegetarian (eat eggs, cheese and seafood), 25 years old, no kids, not married. I walk everyday and do pilates and yoga (4 to 5 times a week).
Typical day:
B-fast: 2 egg whites, with either cheese (i've just switched to nonfat string)or meatless ham, tea o coffe with non fat or low fat milk.
Morning snack: none? sometimes nuts or V8
Lunch: lettuce salad with tomatoes, alfalfa sprouts, cucumber and either cheese (whole) or meatless sausage link, or egg whites.
Afternoon snack: non fat capuccino or plain herbal teas...sometimes add sweet and low.
Dinner: seafood with salad or meatless "chicken patties".

Questions:
Can I eat nuts every day?
Is it ok to have drinks with sweet and low (coffe, tea, diet snapple, diet coke)?
I eat out ALOT...what choices do I have in japannese, egiptian, indian restaurants?
The firts day on the SBD I was on an incredible energy high...but now I just seem tired all the time...why?
As long as the sugar count is 0gr. can I haver it? (example veggie chips)
Are the meatless ham's, sausages, pattiesa good protein choice?
I know I've written alot....but I really want to do things right.
Thanks everyone!!

Hello, moonlight45.
I understand your wanting to do things right. Please check our website and the other links at the top of your page for answers to these questions and more. Don't get discouraged if you don't lose weight immediately, especially if you were eating closely to the plan already; it might take a bit. Also, make sure you are eating enough. If you don't eat enough, you may cause your body to store whatever you do eat, thus doing tohe opposite of what you want to happen.
I hope these things are helpful to you!
From looking at what you typically eat, it looks like you are not eating enough. maybe try increasing your protein. You should be eating at least five times a day with a protein at every meal. I am starting the SBD tomorrow and I know I will be lucky if I lose even 3 lbs in phase 1 because I eat very little carbs anyway and my body is very resistant to letting go of any fat.
I went to a dietician awhile back who had me eat more to lose weight. It was really hard psychologically.
As far as nuts, I think it is okay to eat them every other day as long as you don't oer do it. Just count out 15 . I know it is easy to eat much more than that.
Good Luck.. Just keep with it and the weight may soon just melt off.
Hi there Moonlight -
Ok, here's what I noticed... you are eating nonfat cheese.... look at the labels you should be using reduced fat or full fat in most cases (for all foods); the non fat stuff is more processed and tends to have more carbs.
Susan :)
Hi Moonlight,
You already got great answers, so I won't repeat.

"Success is a journey, not a destination"
It's nice to know that I'm not alone in this..it IS hard to stay on a plan and not see any results.... even more so, if you've been as concerned about your weight as I've been and still not able to loose weight.
The thing is, that I've eaten such small portions for so long, that I find it really hard to start eating more! I'm afraid the pounds will start to go even higher!!!
Anyway...I'm trying. So I hope that sticking with phase one for one more week will help. I just need some moral support...
How are you doing on phase 1? You started two days ago, right?
Good luck!
Moonlight
