I'm going out to eat at a Mexican restaurant this Sat. and I'm trying to figure out what I can have. I think a taco salad (on a plate, not one of those fried tortilla bowls) would be OK, or maybe fajitas without the rice or tortillas. Any other ideas for Mexican restaurants? Can I eat refried beans?? Are all beans OK, or just the ones listed in the book. I didn't see pinto beans, red beans, etc. listed.
Also, I'm breastfeeding my six month old currently. Is the SBD safe for BF moms?
Do I need to make any modifications?
And finally I'm trying to figure out how the SBD is different from the Sugar Busters diet. Phase II and III sound a lot like Sugar Busters. Does anyone know how they're different?
Thanks, and I look forward to getting to know you all here!

Welcome to our board and the beach!

Hi & welcome,
Just a quick caution - refried beans are pinto beans and they are not allowed in Phase 1.
Hello Stefanie from another member of the July 2003 board!
Hi Stefanie,
Yes, SBD is safe for nursing mothers, but you need to start on Phase 2, not Phase 1.

Stefanie, I saw that not all of my original post was included on the board website, so I'm reposting here from the original thread:
