Has anyone tried the new Propel Fitness Water by GatorAid??

Is this allowed in Phase I - it does contain10 calories, 35 mg of Sodium, 3g Carbohydrates in a 16.9 oz bottle. It is flavored water, basically, and its great.

I am a HUGE diet coke freak - and realize that I have to give up my caffine. Although Diet coke has no carbs - it does have more sodium 40 mg per service (1 can)

So what is the best bottled/canned/etc. beverage - i bring lunch to work everyday and need something to drink that I can buy once a week and bring in to our fridge...

Thanks!!!

Plain water is best. If you can't stand water, though, there are alternatives. I would watch for the sweeteners in the bottled flavored waters...high fructose corn syrup, glucose, glucose, syrup, etc. They can sabotage your weight loss. If you can't stand plain water, though, there are alternatives. Some here have suggested a tablespoon of sugar free (SF) flavored syrup--the kind you add to coffee. Other suggestions have been lemon or lime juice and weak decaffeinated tea.

What are some other suggestions/recipes for "water haters" or those who don't have access to fresh water on the go?

I am a diet soda freak too. To tell you the truth I would not have survived Phase 1 without it. I drink a lot. I drink all day long, especially on SB Phase 1. I do buy cafeine free colas like cf diet Pepsi or diet Coke and or Fresca. I will drink a can or two a day and try to fit in a few glasses of water as well. The sodas do help with the sugar cravings. As an alternative I have found that 4C makes an iced tea that is sweetened with Splenda and it is divine! And I love the sugar free Snapple lime green tea. I do not like sweet waters, however. Water should taste, like well, water! I do like Perrier and have found it by the case (in 12 oz plastic bottles) for only $10 at BJs wholesalers.

Good luck and welcome aboard!

Thank you all for the warm welcome and water alternative ideas. I'am not really a "water hater" but its not my fav thing to drink and I want to make sure I get it in my system some how. AND I dont want to start myself out on the wrong foot by getting "stuck" on the beverage thing!!!

I will look into some of the ideas listed - I am going shopping tomorrow and I am very excited about the whole SBD !!! Trying to talk df into trying it with me for those rare days/nights we are actually eating together.

Thanks a bunch!!!

Hi! I just started SBD today and in preparation I bought several flavors of La Croix. They have lemon, orange and cranberry. It is only carbonated water and natural flavors so there are no calories, no sodium and no carbohydrates. It makes for a nice change from plain water.

I haven't ruled out diet sodas, but definitely limited how many I drink. After the first 2-3 days of caffeine-free headaches, I realized I needed to taper off of them rather than quitting cold-turkey. I made a deal with myself to indulge only if my water consumption for the day is on track. Drinking a glass of water when I had the urge for diet coke at least gave me the feeling of satiety and fullness. Plus I think I enjoy them more when I feel I'm kept a promise to myself and "earned" a treat.

As for taking it to work, get a nice insulated Rubbermaid sealable container and you're good to go. Keep it cold and handy while you work. Crystal light also makes bottles of SF tea and lemonades, but they're a bit pricey.

I am addicted to regular cola (can't stand diet). I plan to fill waterbottles 1/3 full and freeze them. When ready to go just add fresh water to the ice and go. The ice lasts for hours and can be easily topped off at any fountain. Really cold water tastes best for me so this works well. I did this the last time I went off soda for 6 months. I found that once I have 1 cola I am done for (like a sodaholic)!! I plan to drink really weak tea with splenda if the headaches become totally unbearable, but only if severely needed.
