It seems like most of the ladies doing the postings had enough sense to start dieting at 20 or 30 lbs overweight. Congrats to you all, because I SO wish I had done the same.

Unfortunately, I waited until I need to lose 78 lbs before I was finally motivated to start 01/01/04.

Is anyone else out there starting this far from the finish line? Or, has anyone started this far and is now close?

Also, instead of pounds, I'm going to try to put more emphasis on body fat percentage. Anyone else doing this?

Inquiring minds want to know. :)

I'm assuming you saw her lbs abbreviation as 1bs which would make it look like 701lbs instead of 70 lbs.

Sorry gals - you have me laughing and snorting - in my family, SBD = silent but deadly, which has been an unfortunate side effect of some of the food I've been eating. Definitely NOT something I'd associate with a Diva!!!

But what an inside joke!

Just wanted to add a quick encouragment to all those with a large amount to lose. I've "been there, done that" and still doing it might I add. I started in September with needing 79 lbs to lose and as of January, 5th (today) I have lost 60 lbs. The key for me was doing the "low carbs", and eating the healthy ones when I added those back in and EXERCISE!! I can't stess exercise enough. I took a couple weeks off during the holidays and indulged in the christmas cookies that I made with my kids, etc and because of the muscles I built previous to this, I didnt see a weight gain at all! I jumped right back in after the holidays and feel back to my usual "losing" self, ha ha ha.

Btw, after no sugar for so long, the cookies were so sweet I was shocked!

Good luck to you gals, you can do it too!

Thanks Maggie, you are so sweet! I read your comment to me in the "success" section as well. I really, really think that is the key to any permanent weight loss. I even hate calling the SBDiet a "diet" because we all know those don't work. Its about eating healthy and excersising. Hey maybe they should change the South Beach Diet into the South Beach way of life, or something along those lines, tee hee. :)
