Hi,

I'm still learning the book, but I am confused about the milk products..

You can't have milk, yogurt..ect, but you can have string cheese and cottage cheese.

Aren't these made of milk products??

Also, Thanks for information on salad dressings,I had a chicken salad for dinner and was wondering what types would be good :-)

Also, I work in the evenings and don't eat till I get home which is from 7pm to 8:30pm, what would be good to eat for dinner at these times? just salads??

Thanks,

Jamie

I bought the SBD carb guide and it lists low fat/fat free milk as being okay in Phase I. I'm confused...

I checked again to make sure it said milk and not dairy in general. Under "Dairy" it lists "Low-fat or fat-free milk or soy milk". It is also listed in the back of the guide as "Good."

That would be nice if we could have it, as I love skim milk, but I also don't want to mess myself up for Phase I. There is 12g of sugar in 8 oz of skim milk so now I am REALLY confused.

(This is from the SBD "Good Eats, Good Carbs Guide")

Are you sure the book is claiming to drink milk in Phase One?

I have the SBD "Good Fats Good Carbs Guide", which I think is the one you are referring to. On page 17 under Phase One allowed foods it does say, under dairy, you can have low fat and skim milk and plain or sugar free low fat or fat free yogurt. I have been having at least one yogurt (non-fat, sugar free) at least once a day as a snack. I hope this is legal.

Hi Ann, are you sure that your yogurt is sugar free?

FYI I picked up Dr A's "Good Fats Good Carbs Guide" after reading this earlier. He does in fact list low fat / fat free / soy milk and plain / sf / ff yogurt on the "foods to enjoy" list for P1. Agreed though that this is a contradiction to what is in the book. Nothing else jumps out at me as siginificiatly different. Was cottage cheese allowed on p1??
