Hi,
I'm a newbie (started today!!!) My 1-year old is napping, so I'm trying to read as much as I can here and get familiar with the boards. In addition, I'm loving all the recipe ideas! I don't like salmon, so I got flounder for tonight. Saw someone's recommendation on the almond chicken, and found a similar recipe for the flounder! I can't wait!!

I'm now starting to really read nutrition labels. With a 1-year old here in NYC, it's hard to dawdle at the supermarket. The aisles are so narrow, I can't hang out there with a stroller. So, we often use a service called Fresh Direct--an online grocery order and delivery service.
They have lots of nutrition information for most of the products. I've just spent 20 minutes reading labels online! If anyone needs a place to search out various foods to read the labels, this place is one place to do it. It's www.freshdirect.com. You can choose categories of food or do a search. When you select a particular product, look for the smallish green type somewhere near the picture of the food that says "Nutrition" or "Nutrition/Ingredients".

Where in NYC are you? I grew up there on the Upper East side! I now live not far away in Connecticut.
This is an awesome board. I first started in early October and lost 10 pounds very quickly. I was amazed since I do not have all that much to lose. I was fine with SB until early December and had to bake stuff for my kids schools and friends and parties, etc... and well, I fell into the water! I only gained a couple of pounds, though, and found that although I was seeking the sweeter things in life, my past issues with breads and pastas and such were no longer an issue at all. Anyhow, I have decided to redo Phase 1 and "detox" myself of my sugary habbits. Already I feel so much better!
Thanks for the feshdirect info. I will be sure to check it out. Getting groceries in the city is sure tough! We used to have them delivered once a week. I would get home from school and there they would be at the back door and my job was to put them all away. Luckilly I have access to Peapod (by Stop and Shop), but my little guy (2.5) loves to go to the grocery store. It's entertainment!

Ps. I am about to try a pistachio crusted chicken!
