I don't see them on either side of the list during Phase 1. Am I missing something? I know they can be a veggie with a high sugar content - are they OK? Hope so I have a recipe with onions with tomatoes and garbanzos simmering now - YUMMMMM

I could be wrong but I think they are allowed, in moderation, for cooking.

I can't seem to put my finger on the page right this minute but my recollection is that onions are limited in Phase 1 to 1/2 an onion.

LOL - thanks ladies (and mathematicians!!) here's another way to make it more complex: I have 1/2 cup in my garbanzo beans side and 1/4 cup in the sauce for my main dish. Planning to serve 2 (probably will leave much of the sauce behind). Are we still OK??? ;)

The enhanced phase I list from prevention says limit 1/2 onion per day. It is used in many phase I recipes from the book. So I say enjoy!
