Have I sinned?

I had some Brusters Chocolate SF/FF ice cream. It was WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!

I found the nutri. info on their site, but is it ok????

Also, I read talking about CHILI here.....

What's allowed particularly on Ph 1 ???

Would canned- no meat be ok? or what?

Heard someone talking about a TACO salad. How to do?

Also - all this Sugar Free stuff.

Is it SAFE???

I just always remember the Saccharin causes Cancer bit.

I used regular sugar til recently.

I'm not suffice sure enough if you're allow to have anything ice cream because there are milk in it but I guess I'd have to say you can't have any fat-free/sugar free ice creams! You're allow to have sugar free popsicle and you're also allow to have "No Added Sugar" fudgicle in Phase One!

Well you should use sugar substitute. Hmm... Chili? Meat? I think you're allow to have that too as long as you dont have it with the crust thing. In phase One, you're not allow to have all kind of breads, milks, etc. but you can have cheese cuz milk got lactose sugar.

You should be able find in the book that will let ya know which food to eat and food to avoid for Phase one.

OK...No ice cream on phase one!!!! But after you lose your weight the new Bryers Carb Smart ice crream is great. It is 9grams of fat and 10 carbs and tastes devine, Creamy and good!!! Like the Dr. says, fat doesn't make you fat...Carbs make you fat!! I think that is true. The half cup of this ice cream is allowed in phase 3, perhaps phase2. They make Smart Carb chocolate covered ice cream bars that are like 12 carbs or less and very good.

Chili is allowed if you keep it low carb. You can make it with ground turkey for less fat, but I use a lean ground beef, add white beans and kidney beans, stewed tomatoes, chili powder, red peppers, tomato sauce, onions and you have a low carb meal. The beans have carbs...but they also have protein, and I feel that the protein balances out the carb. Also beans are a good carb...better than potatoes that are a starch carb and better than bread, another starch carb. I found that when I diet and eat chili, I lose weight.

As for sugar free...beware. It is not all good. I prefer Splenda, that is made from sugar and is safe and no after taste. At www.splenda.com you can see products that are made with it. It comes in yellow packets and is a good sugar subsitute. The Carb Smart products are made with Splenda, as well as the lite applesauces, RC Cola and alot more. It also comes in a granular that you can bake with. There are recipes on the splenda site.

Though I haven't read the new book myself yet, the new SBD book, "Good Fats Good Carbs", has new enhanced food lists which now include skim and 1% milk, and nonfat no-sugar-added yogurt.

Only plain yogurt is allowed (not the fruit variety).
