laughing cow=baybel? and other questions

hi everyone, its phase I, day three for me, and i feel fantastic. i don't think i've slept this good in months, and i have more energy when i get home from work than i ever have! i'm a little worried because the weight dosn't seem to be flying off, but of course i just started and to be honest, the way i feel now is a good enough reward. i just have a couple of questions about what to eat/not eat. first of all, i found the laughing cow cheese, but it's not spreadable, it's called baybel (or something like that). is that ok? it didn't say low-fat, so i wanted to check with people before i started eating them. also, when i reach phase II, am i allowed to have sushi with brown rice (i'm a sushi junkie)? i would think so, but there is a lot of rice with sushi and i don't know if it's a good idea (of course, i would rather white rice...is it REALLY so bad??). and is diet coke ok to drink? i thought i read something about how the aspartme isn't good for you, and that splenda was the only artificial sweetner allowed, but i see a lot of posts where people are drinking diet soda, so i wanted to make sure. finally, is carbonated water allowed? sorry, that's a lot of questions, but thanks so much for the help!

There are many places in Toronto that make sushi with brown rice. Also, try sashimi. Then you get the lovely raw fish taste without the rice carbs.

thanks for the answers...i have thought about sashimi, i love it. my favorite is eel with avocado. i guess if i don't eat the rice, it's ok. i'm assuming seaweed salad is ok too if i don't get the dressing, since the list of ok veggies includes "all sea vegetables" (LOL!). i'm going to a sushi bar tonight, which is another reason why i asked. and i love edamame, which another person already asked about, so it looks like i'll easily get my 2 cups in, and fresh fish to boot! thanks for the help.

thanks maggie! i'm going to go straight to the grocery store today to find it, because i'm getting sick of eating just mozzy sticks. also, i made it through fine last night...i just got sashimi, and it was actually better, since the rice didn't mask the flavor. but oh how i missed those shrimp tempura/eel/avocado rolls!! btw, my dbf got me a sushi making kit for x-mas, so if you ever want some sushi but can't find a place that will make it for you with brown rice, you can make your own (more fun that way too). we made sushi for nye, before i went on south beach, and it was such a blast!! i highly recommend it, because with brown rice, sushi is one of the healthiest things you can eat.

Tess, do you know that there are many cheeses you can have besides just Laughing Cow wedges

ooops, sorry, i should have been more clear on what i meant. i mean i'm getting sick on SNACKING on only motzy sticks (sure i could cut up low fat cheeses too, but the pre-packaged cheeses are so easy to grab in the am when i'm in a rush). i have low fat cheddar, and ff american (slices for roll-ups) AND, i'm so impressed with my cheese prowess, i found a block of lf montery jack skulking in the back of the section. so i definatly don't have a cheese shortage ;) but everyone has been raving about lc, so i want to see what all the talk is about! thanks for the input tho! i'm assuming you live in georgia? my aunt lives in smyrna and works in atlanta...i'm going to try to convince her to try this diet, she's always on the lookout for a way to lose weight. thanks for your help!
