Tomato/Chili Question

I've seen a few posts that say it is okay to have chili. Is it okay to eat that or not? I have a can of Hormel brand 99% fat-free turkey chili at home, and haven't eaten it because the label has 6 grams of sugar per serving. I know we are trying to avoid sugar, so I avoided the chili. Someone here specifically mentioned Wendy's chili - a small size has 5 grams of sugar. Is this amount okay? I don't have the book, so I'm not sure what is allowed. Thanks!

What about 2-alarm chili mix. All you have to add is

ground meat, tomato sauce, water and the ingredients

that come in the pack. Should this be okay.

Thanks

Read the label.

All of the seasons come individually wrapped. I do know that one

is sugar and another is masa. If I omit those then the chili

should be okay. Also, which is better turkey ground meat or

beef?

Thanks

It wouldn't matter as far as fat goes if you get the lean or xtra lean ground beef.

I'm with you Mel, extra lean ground beef is what I'm using tonight in my Chili! There's just something about the turkey that I don't care for...The good thing is, like you said, with extra lean beef (especially if you drain it after browning it) it isn't too high in fat!
