Anyone else with PCOS on SBD??
| Fri, 01-09-2004 - 8:39am |
Hi there...I am brand new to this board. I started SBD seven days ago. I have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and have slowly put on weight over the past two years and am ready to take it off. I do not have much to lose .... 20 pounds....but none the less need to lose it.
No only do I wish to look better I am hoping to help my PCOS also. I would like to be able to get off the meds I take for it. My question is if there are any others out there with PCOS that are on SBD? Has it helped the symptoms and are you still on your medication for it?
Thanks so much!

Thanks for the outlet,

From what I have figured out...if we can lose the weight we can control the PCOS! Yeah!
I also had a hard time getting pregnant with my first child....and with my second I was on bc for a year before and it straightend me out and I got pregnant right away.
The hair thing is an issue for me also..but I am taking medication for it right now...just started it though so I don't know how it will work.
I do know though that when I am at my ideal weight the symptoms all but disappear...including the hair issue.
So that is my goal...to be able to lose the extra weight and have my body function somewhat normally!
Great to meet you!

They are learning new things every day about this syndrome and that more and more woman have it and do not even know it.
You should definetely get with your doctor...if they discover that you are having a insulin problem they can prescribe some medicine to help.
It does not make PCOS go away but helps control our insulin so hopefully we do not become diabetic.
The SBD is a great plan for PCOS also....I started this plan to lose weight but to also get the PCOS under control. It goes hand in hand...losing weight and controlling the PCOS.
Good luck!
