I have a twin sister who is, well, quite a bit bigger than I am. She's an inch or 2 taller, about 80 pounds heavier and wears a size 11 shoe to my 9. We are sooo different you'd never know we were sisters let alone twins. LOL
Anyway, on Monday she FINALLY agreed to try out this diet after many conversations with me and seeing what I can eat and how good I'm looking and feeling. Plus she would really like to loose the baby weight from her little boy who will turn 2 next month, it's time.
She's turned a bunch of people in her office onto this WOE too so they decided that each one would pick a day each week and bring in lunch for the rest of the SBDers. She just called me, listen to what someone brought in today....
Crab stuffed mushrooms (real crab in mushrooms with mozerella cheese and baked)
Shrimp cockatil (w/out the sauce)
Shrimp scampi (made w/out butter, he used the spray butter)
SF jello made w/ diet sprite
How sick is that? LOL I'm so jealous, sure beats the heck out of my canned black bean soup with mushrooms! LOL I told her I hope she gains weight (aren't I mean). She just laughed, I then told her I was only kidding. SICK!

Susan :)
Susan, oh Susan, tell me about this veggie amount of legend. I haven't read anything about it anywhere. However, I found it to be a GREAT rule of thumb even if I can get myself to eating them in the AM.
I was also wondering... Cucumbers are good right? Pickles are cucumbers (yes, full of salt but OH SO GOOD!)... so can cucumbers be counted for like a 1/4 cup! lol.
They should make a veggie gum... or maybe not... ew! lol
Hey, does a bloody mary count in the AM! lol. sorry... i'm getting giddy! I have to psyche myself out on Friday because the kids have free day when they get here. Today is report card day, so I have to prepare myself for the middle schoolers who think a C/D average is "straigt, Ms. Marie. At least I ain't failin'." jeeze. lol
Susan :)
Ria, I see you have the sillies today (glad they left me)!

Atkins eats lots of veggies too. On their stages, they are mandated by the low carb rules to only go for a cup (I think).
I think the big difference between atkins and SBD is the emphasis on whole foods and lean things here without counting and using exercise. Atkins does't seem to focus on that. Instead of ricotta creams, they get to have cream cheese with splenda and cinnamon or fresh whipped cream flavored with vanilla and the calorie consumption is out of this world! Calories can get out of whack anywhere though.
Now, how did that soapbox get under my feet. I'll retract my claws and get back to business. didn't mean to sound so mean! lol.
ria - at end of TOM, tends to get a little snipity. OOPS!
shrimp, in a bloody mary? lol. or did I read that wrong. No, don't drink those things anyhow (shrimp or the mary's).
Yup I've been served a bloody with with a large shrimp attached to my glass (when we go to the Keys); a most lovely garnish.
As for Atkins... Yup I know. Been there, done that.
Susan :)
I found this thing burried.
YOu don't have to be literal! I've been on several boards where if Atkins is "misstated" (even to the point of someone exagerating), Atkins peeps get all kinds of ticky. So, I like to jump in as a disclaimer. next time, I'll use a **Disclaimer** at the top! lol.
I could live without beans. beans, they make me happy! lol.
