Hi everyone. I'm weighing (no pun intended) diet options, and want to start a diet on Monday. The SBD is one that's "on the list." Before I started I wanted to get some feedback on whether or not the weight-loss claims in phase I are realistic and how effective the diet is, in the long run, compared to some other diets. I appreciate any feedback you can give me. On a personal note, I have about 25 pounds to lose. :)

Thanks.

Hi Cookie!

I have been doing the SBD since August 2003, and LOVE it! It has been so easy for me, and at this point, I automatically reach for the healthy stuff without even thinking. This is a lifestyle change, not just a quick fix diet to lose the weight then go back to your old lifestyle and go through the diet yo-yo process over and over again, the viscious cycle.

In August I weighed 143 pounds, I'm 5'0". By November I dropped to 112, and have stayed there since (even through the Holidays). I didn't lose a huge amount in the first two weeks, I lost about 4-5 pounds. I stuck with the program and all the weight eventually just came off, with no suffering.

I don't have an end goal weight, or end date... This is a life long way of eating for me, and man it feels SO GOOD not to worry, because I know I'm healthy, and my body will naturally be at it's healthy weight.

Make your decision on what is going to work best for you and your lifestyle. Don't set yourself up for failure, be reasonable with your goals and expectations.

I hope you find what you're looking for.

Take Care,

Jamah
