I figured out if each of us knows of a special tip to lose weight it would be great if they can share it here (pls keep your posts brief as there is a traffic of posts on this board).

from my own experience:

1- running (or doing other cardio) early morning on empty stomach is the fastest way to lose weight

2- Walking in extreme weather conditions( too cold or too hot) requires the body to consume more energy so you lose more weight.

Way to go Julie!!!

Snowshoeing is so much fun! :) I've only done it as the winter version of hiking, but I had a blast and burned a whole lot of calories or at least it felt like it. But that was last winter... Haven't gotten around to it this season just yet.

If you are outdoors in subzero temperatures, your body will have to keep its 37 C temp. so in order to maintain this temp it will have to burn somwe energy. Remember the old Chemistry formula Energy ==> Temperature? :~) This is a scientifically proven fact.

Yes yes, I know that.

Here's what works for me...

My original goals were a little overwhelming, so I broke them down into 5-pound mini-goals. For each one, I decided on a reward. And more than that, every time I ran into something really tough, I promised myself a reward for finishing it. My weight goal rewards are new clothes...I'm slowly replacing my entire wardrobe with new, smaller stuff. The other goals are little things, like getting a manicure instead of doing it myself, or getting a haircut. Things like that. So now I have a list of goals, rewards that I want to earn, and rewards I've already earned for myself. When I'm feeling discouraged, I look at what I've already done for myself, and the things that are still left don't seem as overwhelming :-)
