As you all know, I am having trouble loosing weight. So I decided on going for one more week on phase one. Now I don't want to make up excuses, but there are three things to consider (for me? or for you? just a thought ;) )I'm on vacation at my parents. Another family memeber just dropped by for 2 days. Parents freek out about anything that even "seems" diet-like (FYI: ex anorexic).

Ok, day 14thI had this:

Bfast: 2 egg whites, 1 meatless ham, 1/2 cup of coffee, 1 tablespoon of LF cottage cheese.

Morning snack: 1 celery stalk with about a tablespoon of hummus

Lunch: black bean and lentil soup (not dense), 1Tb LF cottage cheese

Miscll. all day: sugar free gum, sugrfree cough drop candy, 10 pistacho nuts and 2TB hummus.

Snack: NF foam milk capuccino (no sugar) and later one diet arizona green tea with ginger

Dinner: 1 meatless chicken pattie (100cals, 2.5gr. fat, 10gr. protein, 9 gr. carbs) with lettuce, avocado, mushroom salad.

At night I went to the movies...one more decaf, non fat capuccino (with nurtrasweet)

Today I had this for breakfast:

3 meatless hams, 1 Tb of LF cottage and 1/2Tb hummus, 1 cup of coffee..

How am I doing? I know that the snacking wasn't "one thing" it was just splattered around...does that matter?

Can I eat Soy Crispies?

Hi Moonlight,

I think that it appears you should eat a bit more.

I'm no expert...but I don't think you are eating enough food. 1tbsp cottage cheese? I had a quarter of a cup for snack this afternoon with cucumber rounds....

I apologize for the length in advance....

Hi Moonlight45,

First, I think you should stop counting calories! Don't be afraid of them, you really do need calories, and cutting them to such a small amount will only harm your body, and you won't lose weight in a healthy way. =) You don't need to count with SBD, and you will still lose weight.

Second, you should almost double what you are eating. Your body needs energy, and food is your fuel. If you want your metabolism to work hard, you need to feed it. Assuming you're vegetarian, I don't see enough protein, add in more beans, and tofu. Remember, this is a lifestyle change, treat yourself right!

I also noticed you didn't list your water intake, try and get in around 8 cups a day.

Below I have made some suggestions to your meal plan;

Your Bfast: 2 egg whites, 1 meatless ham, 1/2 cup of coffee, 1 tablespoon of LF cottage cheese.

Suggestion: Add in veggies! Make an omlette with 2-3 whole eggs and diced meatless ham or tofu, peppers, chilies, mushrooms, onions, broccoli and lowfat cheese. Top with some salsa, and cilantro.

One cup coffee, tea, water, or Tomato juice.

Your Morning snack: 1 celery stalk with about a tablespoon of hummus.

Snack Suggestions: 3 celery stalks with hummus or peanut butter, OR

string cheese

NUTS

1/2 cup LF cottage cheese

lettuce, LF cheese, tomato, and cilantro mayo roll ups.

Your Lunch: black bean and lentil soup (not dense), 1Tb LF cottage cheese.

Suggestion: Have a hearty chili, filled with beans, tomatos, herbs and tofu. If you plan to have soup, make it dense. Add a salad tossed with baby greens, onions, tomato, sprouts, cabbage, avocado, cucumber, walnuts, feta cheese and olive oil/vinegar dressing.

Your Misc. all day: sugar free gum, sugrfree cough drop candy, 10 pistacho nuts and 2TB hummus.

Snack: NF foam milk capuccino (no sugar) and later one diet arizona green tea with ginger.

Eat all the sugar free gum you want, just don't use it to substitute snacks!

A non fat capuccino and diet arizona green tea should NOT count as snacks. They count as drinks. Use the snack suggestions above for your afternoon snack as well.

Your Dinner: 1 meatless chicken pattie (100cals, 2.5gr. fat, 10gr. protein, 9 gr. carbs) with lettuce, avocado, mushroom salad.

Suggestion: Cube your meatless chicken pattie, and saute it up with peppers, onions, zuccini, garlic and olive oil/or spray. Serve on top of a 1/2 cup black beans, spiced with chilis. Top with shredded LF cheese, or avocado.

Enjoy a side salad with all the veggies you want.

Treat yourself to something sweet.... SF fudgesicles, Riccota creme cup, SF pumpkin pudding (check recipe section).

Final Suggestion: Eat more veggies and protein at every meal, be sure you get enough water, and stop skimping on the calories! Exercise 20 mins a day, get that heart rate going, so your metabolism works for you.

(Don't stay on phase one too long, be sure to add in Whole Grain breads, and other healthy carbs back into your diet after two weeks.)
