First weekend on SBD - help!

Hi, Well I started phase 1 on Monday, and the week was not too hard. I was amazed at how full I got eating less food than I usually do when I'm dieting, and how little I wanted my usual candies and cookies, and coffee loaded with sugar and milk. Then came Friday. I usually come home from work on Friday night and start off the weekend with a glass of red wine...it's my little end of the week ritual. I didn't do it, but I could barely contain myself. It was so hard that I feel I used up all my will power and am going to succumb to the weekend temptations. Any suggestions of something to substitute for the wine?

I am on the exact same day! this is my sixth day on phase 1. I do think it's getting harder, I am less hungry, but I am starting to miss things too....What I am trying to do is to keep reminding myself why I am on this diet in the first place. I have to tell myself that this is a choice and that I could also choose to have a candy or a glass of wine. However, if that is what I do I also have to consider if that will affect my results next time I weigh myself (which for me will be after the two weeks on phase 1). I think I have come too far now, further than I would have gone on any other diet probably! So I won't allow myself to go off the diet right now or even "cheat". the reason I tried the SBD is that after the first two weeks, the diet becomes less stringent and you can start to add some good carbs.

Good Luck and hang in there! I would hate for you to have gotten through the first FIVE days and then mess it up! Just wait, in another nine days you can have your glass of red wine, and you will probably enjoy that wine in a smaller size pair of jeans!!!!!

Thanks Sara! It's so great not to be doing this alone. I'm going out to dinner tonight and I'm going to bring a copy of your posting as support (particularly the part about fitting into my clothes)!

How about trying a nice glass of decaf herb tea?

A few weeks ago some of our then-new people had the same issue.

Thanks for the ideas about sparkling water and green tea...I wonder how that green tea would be cold? Anyway...almost half way through the weekend...this is so much harder than when I'm at work. My house is filled with cookies, candy, crackers etc. (thanks to my 13 and 18 year old sons). Anyway, thanks for the ideas and support!
